I liked Zacha a lot, but I think NJ made a big mistake in keeping him in the NHL right now. The kid was pretty raw even in the OHL, at times letting his temper get the best of him or making a poor read. He didn't produce as consistently, either. I figured he was a 2-3 year project. - Jsaquella
Saw Sarnia play Windsor last season. Zacha reminds me of Malkin in every area of the game, especially his temper. Zacha started the game probably the best player on the ice until he let the little things get to him, than Konecny took over as easily the best player in that game. |

Pierre just jumping on the Tampa hype train at the time. "He's a mini Victor Hedman." He's is much more like Doughty stylistically. - Baxter27
Every league has draft guys who make ridiculous comps, but the NHL is easily the worst. Every first round pick is compared to an all star or HOF player. The worst part is that the comps aren't even good ones from a stylistic standpoint.
"He's a much smaller, left handed, smoother skating, calmer Victor Hedman, but not as heavy of a shot" |

Hate that we have to wait until Wednesday for the next game. This streak and recent string of games have been an absolute blast to watch. We also get a favorable match up against a struggling Avalanche team; not that they should be overlooked regardless. It really makes me wonder how the lines are going to look once Couts and Read are back, as well as how much more can we improve with their insertions. I really thought our team was doomed when Couts went down with how bad we played last season without him, but total opposite. Everyone seems to be contributing and theres a different hero each game. Between the 19 year olds, the streak, Mason and Stolie both playing great, I still think my favorite part of this season is Jake bouncing back. My biggest pet peeve last season were the fans demanding his head after signing is contract and labeling him as a bust. Boy have they crawled back under their rocks. - arichardson22
With the one two punch of G/Jake and Schenn/Simmer going as hot as they are most teams aren't sure of which line to play their best shutdown players against. When Coots comes back I'd slot him 3C for a few games and if things are slowing down then slide him back up the lineup. |

Bill Meltzer: Wrap: 1-0 OTW Runs Flyers Win Streak to Nine; A Special Reunion in Philly - bmeltzer
Great win!
I loved the after the whistle stuff. Simmonds and Schenn were just giving it to Ouellette from outside of the penalty box after he jumped Raffl. Also after an incredible shift by Ott that was heard by the whole building, during a commercial, Simmonds and Ott just screamed at each other, with refs needs to break them up. Neither guy giving a inch. |

Agree. He could certainly benefit from another year before coming into the NHL. |

Looked like Giroux had to go over and tell Simmonds to take it down a notch after the shouting match. |

So if Streit and Ghost are both out does Provorov land on first PP next game? or does Del Zotto fill in there. Who get's the call from LV? Morin, Sanheim, Brennan or Hagg? |

Simmer has been fired up for a few games. He may need G to calm him so he won't take the suspension. |

I didnt think we would struggle because to the point of his injury this year he was struggling. I know fancy stats\60 +ES shots on Thursdays and Saturday say he was the most valuable part of the team. =)
If they are still flying when he gets back then I see no issue with gradually bringing him back as the 3rd line C then moving him back to 2c.
What I know is adding a player like Coots to a lineup that is producing should only make us better.

Forgot about him
We have to give credit to Hakstol here parking this guy on the bench. Good solid vet but he just cant move the puck the way it needs to be moved in todays game |

Even with Schultz they still likely need a 7th Dman to come along on the trip. It will likely be Brennan I assume. |

we dont know for sure, but I doubt Ghost is out long term and would be playing if it were a playoff game...unless his hand is broken so who knows |

The current "second line" is a dumpster fire defensively. Coots is absolutely missed right now, they are just finding ways to win in his absence. |

You know the 2C right now is Bellemare, right? VdV-PEB-Lyubimov is getting more ice time than the Schenn line. |
