I have no respect for people who overvalue canucks players, wear rose coloured glasses or insist that there is a quick fix to this gongshow (but due to incompetence, management refuses to take it, use it, seize it).
If you consider yourself a hockey fan but only watch canucks games you're lying to yourself. - Max.Betts
I can't agree with you more. I guess I am pissy too.

Horton has no idea who he met. - A_SteamingLombardi
Even today, I think you could tell him it was Jim Rome from the radio and he would be like "Oh, I like that guy...."

I'm not sure what you mean by adding depth to Utica?
Other than Etem any player they claim would have to stay with the Canucks or be go through waivers again.
Megna and Chaput haven't been world beaters but are they much worse than some of the other guys who we have passed on? - belcherbd
I'd take pulkkinen and boucher over megna and shatpoo. |

I don;t know....
Anytime a team has a chance to take a Shatpoo... I think you do it. Can you imagine how legendary it wil be when Shorty has to say "Chaput just laid a soft dump in the corner."

Then why aren't they adding depth in Utica? Also, your cap space figure is def. off. They also haven't utilized LTIR - CanuckDon
Quite simply because most of the Utica age talent...is on the canucks roster. Hutton tree stretcher Horvat on a champion calibre team...most these guys are in the Ahl |

I don't know about Boucher but Pulkkinen is a terrible skater and I'm not surprised no one picked him up on his second time down.
Again they might be marginally better but I don't think it is the difference between winning a few more games. |

Why take on another contract when the upgrade is not worth it? Puukinen was regarded as an AHL talent by Friedman Ferraro and others.

I have to admit, I have been in and out of town and when I came back on of these times, suddenly we had Chapot and Menga and no idea where or why. Who the heck are these guys? Draft picks? Actual sources of Canuck development? |

Who gives a flying fck if pulkkinen can't skate? Put him on the PP in the Ovi spot and have hank feed him one-timers for 4 minutes a night. this team needs goals and that's what pulkkinen does. Sure, he becomes a PP specialist, but look at Dorsett, he's a specialist too. And I'm willing to bet Pulkkinen can keep up with him in a race. |

Utica?
They added Robak who has been awesome for them and has really stabilized their back end.
Nilsson Sp? also has played a dozen games or so for them after being on IR to start the year, from what I have seen/read he has been so so.
They also brought back Pellatier who was in Europe and has helped their offense. |

there is a limit to contracts they can have, and right now they have the flexibility to take on some in a deal, why use up valuable space for marginal increase? I am hoping they are trying to remain at 45 contracts so they can take on some at the TDL and be big players when college UFA season hits |

Nooooo..... other than Miller getting some injuries, both players are well above what they have played in the previous two years.
Miller will go to the highest paying California team. Burrows will go to Chicago or Montreal.
Then Virtanen and Rodin will be brought up.
Burrows may even come back the following year for minimum wage. - Beatle_john
i'll give you that Miller has been pretty good when healthy, I think I just genuinely don't like him.
Burrows on the other hand I like but is a steaming pile of garbage whose 32 points in the last 100 games at 4.5 million makes him the one of the most overpriced bottom 6 forward in the league. He might be worth a veteran's minimum contract, I hope some team take him off our hands so we can recoup from that awful contract. |

You would be wrong if you think he can keep up with Dorsett.
There is a reason that every team passed on him and most passed on him twice. He straight up cannot skate.
WD won't even put our leading scorer with the Sedins on the PP, you think they would put Pulkkinen there? |
|
|
|
Chaput Megna may not be NHL players but they are not the reason we are losing. One shot on five PPs has more to do why we are losing.
The D are not getting blown out , but we are losing. We have been shut out 5 times in 29 games and the number of one and two goal games would be mind blowing.
15 of our 29 games have been two goals or less |

it's this thing that other teams do with their players, where they learn how to play for a while before they get to play in the NHL. We do it with goalies, but not any other position is my understanding of it. |

so its his doing when they do good but last season wasnt his fault? Thats selective. |
