Don't get it if you agree with Lefty there is a serious lack of skill on the team and no point to change anything why make the PP, the biggest skill area, a must change? - Nuck4U
You are right...playing for 10 minutes with the man advantage and recording 1 shot on net isn't something to worry about.
My bad! |

Actually, I do beleive the PP can be improved because there is the talent and skill to perform better. You confused the matter by agreeing there wasn't any and it's just changing the deck chairs. Then went on giving line combos that's all. |

What I agreed on was the fact that our organization does lack skill beyond some of the obvious players I had mentioned. The Sedins are still very skilled players, as is Horvat, LE, and Sutter. Beyond that, particularly up front, we are garbage.
You are reading too much into my comments son!

How does that makes sense? It's like saying the opposite is true? So having stone hands and no speed helps you win them?
Edit: point is that system makes no sense for team ergo lack of regulation wins. Overtime no system it's skill based yet they do well and look good there. The discrepancy doesn't mean it's a superstar team but playing something that they are not. - Nuck4U
Honestly I think you have this backwards. We play well in OT because the coaching staff and players figured out what they need to do in terms of line combos and actual play on the ice, for example splitting up the twins. Remember last year when we couldn't win an OT game to save our lives? the guys out there playing aren't much different this year, just got it figured out.
We play worse in regulation because we lack A: high end skill and B: depth in the lineup. |

I doubt he did...he is young and their forwards are stacked. Is Jasek eligible? |

I agree that they figured the right line combos out for OT. Doesn't OT and shoot out require more skill and speed to succeed? As opposed to regulation where you can use defensive systems and sit back play?
My point is one of measurement and application. Look at the Sedins latest comments about play and lack of aggressiveness. If you are playing a sit back and wait for mistakes defensive system that WD says he's using then scoring is going to be effected. The PP used to make up for it. That's not working either.
Simply, yes it's not a superstar loaded team but this collective group is better suited for a skill system style and pushing play as a group. What they lack in individual star talent they can make an impact as a group. At least better (more entertaining) then how they are performing now. |

I looked and it's a challenge..Have other teams finalized rosters? Canada hasn't. Zhukenov would make sense, Jasek is playing poorly (at least from observing stats). |

I would agree that this team is not suited to fight the war of attrition that WD seems to want them to play so often, due to lack of depth. The problem is that while the few good guys we have are suited to more of a skill game, we don't have enough of that skill to win with any consistency.
No matter which way you look at it, we need to add several high end guys, and do it without sacrificing too much of what little we have in guys like Bo, Hutton, Stecher, Tree.
Thus why the next 2 drafts are so crucial for this team. |

Jasek got invite and they only had 14 forwards or something. |
