I see you continue to take constructive criticism well.if I wanted to be offensive I would have just called you an idiot, but I didn't because I am to nice of a guy, but a clueless not very bright one
- Reubenkincade

You mask your barbs well. But there is nothing nice about mixing up constructive with destructive commentary. Moving on now as public spectacles play to idiocy and hockey talk is the point of this thread.

I still think Patrick will go 1st.
- A_SteamingLombardi

No clear challenger so he's got the odds now. But the WJC has a nack to shine a light on players who step up. Be interesting what scouts will be saying post January.

Nico Hischier probably is that player... he's already moving up quickly but we'll get to see why in a couple of weeks maybe...
- boonerbuck

He's off to quite a start in the Q for sure. WJC and the second half of the season with Patrick and Lilgren healthy will make things more interesting. There are some good centers in this draft, perhaps a few elite ones. Finishing in the middle doesn't help trying to land one.

"Former Wheat King head coach and general manager Kelly McCrimmon, who is now assistant general manager of the NHL expansion team in Las Vegas (which begins play next season and will have the third best odds in the 2017 draft lottery and pick no lower than sixth overall) fervently believes Patrick has what it takes to be a No. 1 centre in the NHL.
While some of the scouts surveyed by TSN do not discount Patrick evolving into that role, the consensus view is Patrick is projected more as a second-line NHL centre and doesn't have the same “wow” factor as McDavid, Eichel and Matthews.
"He's going to be a good, maybe very good, NHL player," one scout said, "but he isn't a dynamic player. His skating isn't bad but he's not dynamic like those others [McDavid, Eichel and Matthews]."

My point was Getzlaf is not a 2nd tier #1C as he also suggested in his post., but what would I know I haven't a clue
- Reubenkincade

I guess that depends on what factors classifies the tier. Scoring? Leadership? Physicality? Speed? Lifting game of other players? Defensive and shut down? Faceoffs?

He sounds like a very good hockey player but not a player that will take a team on his back alone. A 1-2 Punch with Bo would work out just fine. Just get them both some scoring wingers.

I highly doubt he drops out of the top spot as well. That said, the thing i do find alarming about him is the fact that he is one of the oldest players hitting this draft.

Gabriel Vilardi on the other hand is one of the youngest.

I still take Nolan though, (frank)ing kid has been in the CHL since 2013 lol.

- Whiskey-Tango

Nolan scares the sh!t out of me (somebody correct me if I'm wrong). Two shoulder injuries and two hernia surgeries already? Is he made of glass?

He's going to Vegas. AGM connections and their odds in draft make him a lock

Considering his former GM and Coach is now management for Vegas i'd say that Bettman cheats a bit too. (frank)en little wiener.

I don't remember him being injuried at all last year. He played 72 games and all playoff games and mem cup games.

5-0 Pitt over Arizona end of the 2nd shots 30-18. Arizona is definitely in on the Patrick sweepstakes.

Interesting. He is a pretty big kid. 6'3" 200 lbs. You would think he would be solid.

Depending on what a doctor see's as his future health issues, I would still take him over Nico at this point. Most of his injuries before the surgery are common with younger kids. Also when they are younger, they tend to stay out for longer to make sure they are healthy(seen a lot of injuries[caused more] in lacrosse). Sutter had the same surgery last year and seems to be playing just fine.

I'm glad he is staying out longer. A lot of NHL players come back before they are fully healthy.
