Because of vets we CAN burn the flag. That's the point, it's stupid but the LAST thing you want is to get behind a gov't that keeps shifting the definition of what's acceptable and not when protesting it.

If you buy a flag from a local store and chose to burn it in protest, while I'll think you're an idiot, I'm not going to OK a gov't to lock you up or ship you out.
