I just can't get over how much of a powerhouse we are now with Eichel in the lineup. Just skating teams right off the ice |

You didn't know? That's the only reason we sucked is because he was hurt. |

As soon as teams realize, "hey let's be disciplined, and not take penalties against them", we will go back to 1.81 goals per game |

Looks like another 1 goal game at hand.
This team will be more enjoyable to watch for 60 minutes of hockey once they get a coach that is capable of you know, coaching. His bread and butter is to dump the puck, leave the one guy who enters the zone stranded while the others are getting a change. That's all he is concerned about are line changes. There are times we're down 2-3 goals with only 6 minutes left, someone gets the puck into the zone only to look around and find he's alone b/c the others are changing. "We may be losing by three, but at least we won't have tired guys out there" must be the mantra. Dump and chase only works if you're guys are willing to get down into the zone first and it also can't be done too well when one guy is trying to get past three opponents for the puck.
I'll never understand why, when Babcock went to TOR, Murray panicked the way he did and brought in Bylsma. The guy was gifted a Stanley cup team 2/3 through the season and won the cup sure, which he deserves some credit for, but every year that followed was absolute disappointment. He got a pass for the most part, which were chalked up to injuries, but eventually, the PENS organization realized they had given him way too much benefit of the doubt and gave him the boot. He was getting the same benefit of the doubt earlier this year due to injuries, but now not so much as guys are back, but they don't look much better. He also did wonders for team USA a few years back.
Like every other sport on the planet, there are those coaches who can win with all levels of talent or those whose success is tied solely to the level talent they have. I think it's safe to say that his talent carried him to that cup and I don't see that changing anytime soon
Who else can be coach? That's an open debate, but honestly I'll take anyone who A. learns from his mistakes and does not keep repeating them and B. is willing to change things up a bit when game plans are not working, neither of which seems to enter Bylsma's mind evidently. I'd also like to see a little emotion from a coach, it tends to fuel your players, but whatever.
Oh well, I'm out, gotta watch the last two periods later tonight, so hopefully things change a bit, but we'll see......... |

But he took a year off and studied other coaches and we are just now practicing "compete" so I am sure it will all turn around.

So what exactly has Robin Lehner done to endear himself to the Buffalo fan base?
Cocaine? Got hurt sneezing a bunch of time. Lost a bunch of games? Where's the magic that you would get with any other stop gap goalie? |
