Sekera has been our best defenseman this year followed closely by Larsson overall.

Russel is either #3 or #4 best on the team depending if you are a fanboy of Klefbom's, I am not. Russel is obviously a top 4 defender getting it done on his offside no matter what the fancy stats say. Over the course of the last 10ish games at least Sekera and Russel have been outperforming Larsson and Klefbom while actually in those pairings.

Losing Nurse but getting Davidson back, and playing on his natural side is actually a rather significant upgrade for the team. If Davidson rounds back into form quickly it's not even close. Davidson last year is far superior to Nurse this year. Nurse was struggling down the stretch and didn't exactly start great either.

Gagner is a nightmare in his own zone... and the neutral zone as well. Limiting his 5v5 and making him a PP specialist is very key to his current success. He is an incredibly streaky player that will come back down to earth if history has proven anything. He has talent to burn but no speed, strength on his skates, board battle ability, or defensive awareness to speak of.

Just my opinion anyways. The fancy stats are relied on far too heavily by many people and while they have a place they are every bit as useless as any stat without proper context.

Not even close. Sekera has played well the last few but had an awful stretch. Larsson is 4th best. Klef has had a rough few games but is still out best overall.

Actually I'll retract that. The fact that he hasn't sent Puljuju down to the AHL is a stupid non move.

1) I honestly dont think I said ANYTHING controversial today

2) Sekera has been covering up for Russell a lot so it's hard to tell how good he's actually been. I can say for certain that he's been fantastic when not with Russell. So, maybe there's your argument.

3) Russell is a terrible passer, hemmed in his own zone all the time, and is a raging tire-fire

4) The eyes are extremely unreliable and have a massive problem sorting good luck from good process. Proper context involves knowing what is what. And I dont trust anybody's eyes if they firmly believe they're seeing Russell play well when he's been objectively awful, and that goes for the eyes of Peter Chiarelli and Todd McLellan.

Witcher 3 is the best video game I have ever played.
