Giving us this years pick is betting against their future to some extent. We can all agree a high 2nd round pick this year is better than next year as your prospect is ready a year earlier. Perhaps if they finish top 3 (which they won't) they would consider it. I just think it's very unlikely. Hope I am wrong - CanuckDon
Your right, unless they don't highly covet someone in this years 2nd round.
I'm eagerly awaiting another 10 point post from Dragon. - golfingsince
I went to bed late last night and it was the last post on the thread. I didn't read past the opening claim that he was the first person on here to point out the lack of coaching systems.
I knew it was going to draw some attention though...
three top 10 picks in the past three years, two of them top 5. This is the epitome of a team rebuilding. Do your homework. - neem55
Since when is rebuilding and being a bad team synonymous ?
That isn't to say that Carolina isn't rebuilding but Vancouver is going to have 4 top 10 picks in 5 years including a 5, 6 and ? and they are not rebuilding......
Anahiem had 2 top 10 picks in 3 years and were just bad those years.
Montreal picked 3rd then made the playoffs 3 years and picked 6th last year... is that a rebuild?

It's like math, some people are good at it some aren't. Some can see the Canucks failures, some can't no matter how hard they try.

In my eyes, we are rebuilding the management/ownership is just in denial of it being necessary. Seems to me being bad is fairly synonymous to rebuilding, in fact it seems liek the worse you do (more bad you are) the better your rebuild goes. IE the very worst teams in the late 90's? Pittsburgh, LA and Chicago. WHen I think of the bottom feeders of that time I think of those teams, maybe I'm being bias as I'm sure there were other teams that were awful too that didn't succeed. But those teams did suck. They did tank for top 5 picks and they are very good now.
