Kaiser i know i am late, but i have a Roku TV and the firestick, my suggestion is both. Roku TV is great that is where i watch all my Live TV, firestick(jailbroken with Kodi) is the best for movies (still in theatres and all) then you go with playstation vue or sling tv. And you get a buddies log in who has directv for the sunday ticket app, and all your favorite stations so you can still watch live. Then (if you have time warner) when you turn in the equipment they wont completely shut off your line unless they send someone out. Which they never do. So you plug that cable to the back of the TV it will work as an Antenna for or you locals in HD and then you will have 1-70 is SD including MSG for the sabres games. This is my set up and home and i love it.

Not true. They do send people out, it's just not their first priority a lot of the time. Also, what you're technically doing right now (if you are indeed still receiving service after asking to have it disconnected) is cable theft. Just an FYI.
