Yes, but why is he safe at this point? Carr, Bap, Fash, Bailey are all similar style players. Fast, grinders, bottom six material who at their peak may net 15 goals a year. There won't be enough room for all of them in the future and by next year we'll be seeing Asplund, Esteban, and Pu hitting Rochester. We need a defenseman, and if Bailey could be a solid piece in making that happen, I don't know why Murray would say no.

We need all the depth at the wings whe we will have a lot of holes to fill ..

Who knows maybe fash does not pan out and he's the one to go

We still haven't seen enough of Bailey he's only Been here what 10 games ?

I would wait on him also .. I hope people don't start acting this way with nylander when he's going to be in the AHL for three years maybe
- GERBE!!!75PTS

nylanders issues are, and always have been according to scouting reports, away from the puck...

this was from red-line report reviewing each player taken in the first round...on Nylander:

"One of the most purely skilled players in the entire draft provided some of the top highlight reel goals of the year. Has exceptionally soft hands and puckhandling skills — stickhandles through even the tightest traffic with ease. Terrific offensive instincts — makes excellent reads and slick set-ups through traffic off both sides of the blade. Has a knack for lurking on the edges, and then bursting through a small crack at just the right moment to emerge with a great scoring chance. Tremendous release on a blistering and accurate shot. Not as good a skater as older brother, but still very elusive with fine east-west moves and agility. We’d like to see more of a three-zone effort and commitment in the greasy areas — spends far too much time on the perimeter. Rarely initiates contact, and if he’s not scoring, he’s not helping. But he’s a gamebreaker; can be invisible for 57 minutes, then win the game"

sure is...and there's nothing wrong with that...players develop at their own pace...if an organization can afford to be patient, it pays off dearly in the long run

we need 1 winger

we have depth for bottom half of the roster

in okposo, reinhart, kane, and nylander (if kane is moved) you have 3 of your top 4 wingers

the folignos, carrier, baptistie, fasching, bailey etc etc etc are all fine to fill the third line so there is depth there

you have a mudder in deslaurers for the 4th line

they need that one dominant winger, not quantity

I think you can finish the year with kane, okposo, reinhart and baptiste as your top 4 wingers

no reason this kid shouldn't get a shot playing 15-18 minutes per night with the big club

lord knows it's not like we need extra scoring

You got that right The patriots or another team lose a player they plug in another and they don't lose a step

I'm not saying I want to give the guy away or kick him out. I'm saying that, to me, we have four players of similar style, size, speed, and ability in Fash, Bap, Carr, Bailey, and for the most part they are all likely bottom six caliber. As of now Bailey has slipped to 4th when he was once ranked 1st among them. But, if interest around the league is that G.M. are still willing to overpay for this guy, then why not move him for value in an area we are in need of. On defense, we have Guhle who looks good, that its, everyone else is a long, long way away from the NHL. If someone were to offer a sold defensive prospect for Bailey, I would do it.

I think this is more about giving Kane his "own line" sort of like kessel. No one else on Kane's line can shoot so he's free to fire as much rubber as he wants, and he won't be hogging the puck from better players like Eichel

I like this thought, that he is not stealing time from Eichel, but I do want Eichel to have strong line mates. Eichel and Okoposo seem to have good chemistry and same with Eichel and Moulson. Moulson knows where to go (to receive the pass) and Okposo makes smooth passes to spring Eichel. Fun line IMO.

His goal against LA came from Eichel...doing what he is supposed to do, drive to the net.
