How does not a single Ranger go after Eakin.... What the hell has hockey become
- SameOld

Yeah did not understand that either , if it were Bob , I can guarantee Foligno, Hartnell, Jenner, Dubinsky ,Andy would of collectively jumped Eakin.

I hope AV gave his team sh!t for that....

Lucic's hit on Miller was way worse and he wasn't suspended for it. Eakin turns his body to try and avoid hitting him.
- BuffaloFan-71

That was a brutal hit too but was not direct head contact if I remember. That was what, 5, 6/7 years ago? They have since then put in rules about headshots & direct point of contact to the head being a suspendible offense. Eakin is getting something.

I highly doubt AV said anything cause we had 40 minutes to respond with some sort of snarl and didn't, funny thing is he used to be an enforcer, I mentioned Columbus to one of my buddies last night as a team that has a half dozen guys who'd not only jump the player who did it but their family in the stands

Someone told me years ago that other players in Buffalo used to say that he was "Ruff at home, Lindy on the road!!" Love that one!

An embarrasment that no one jumped Eakin after the hit. Any other team would gladly take a retaliation penalty to send a message. Good game, but the response to Hank getting hit was a joke!!

Retaliation penalties are overrated. You end up with a great temporary feeling of "getting someone back" for what they did and then ultimately you end up suffering for it. Shutting out the team that did that to Lundqvist is far better retaliation than getting a few gloved-punches in on him before the ref pulls you apart.

Cizikas got crushed last night by a clean, open ice hit. Got up, grabbed Hartman and tried to fight him. Sick retaliation, lead to a PP goal for CHI.

Hayes playing good again defensively, Nash not hurt and adding Grabner have done wonders.

heres my hot take from last night

you guys really wanna see a chris stewart on this team cause of the hit last night? I think the team looks like a bunch of pussays for not atleast tackling Eakin and throwing a couple jabs but We dont need some schlep who cant play just because things like this happen once in awhile.

Henrik should be given the shutout thats some facking bullsh!t

this teams defensive play the last week-2 weeks has me very optimistic, like how they are winning some low scoring close games now. not so 1 dimensional!

I wouldn't have had any issue last night. They still end up with a 3 minute PP. Clean hit retaliation is just (frank)ing dumb, last night should have been answered at the time.

Am I the only one in the camp that thinks this is getting a bit blown out of proportion? I completely agree that something should have been done, but it's not like Hank is going to miss any time. The goonish days of hockey are long gone. You don't really see retaliation much anymore.

That was the big question, could the Rangers adjust once the scoring became average again. So far so good. Was probably one of my biggest worries.

I thought Nash looked OK last night, you could see he wasnt going flat out esp on the shorty goal, didnt see that speed u usually see but itll come back.
