Am I the only one in the camp that thinks this is getting a bit blown out of proportion? I completely agree that something should have been done, but it's not like Hank is going to miss any time. The goonish days of hockey are long gone. You don't really see retaliation much anymore.

when you go back and read some of the comments last night while it happened

some people should do like I and not post during games

I wouldn't have had any issue last night. They still end up with a 3 minute PP. Clean hit retaliation is just (frank)ing dumb, last night should have been answered at the time.

I get it, believe me. I'd be OK with it too. But in the end it usually doesn't end up accomplishing anything important.

I thought Nash looked OK last night, you could see he wasnt going flat out esp on the shorty goal, didnt see that speed u usually see but itll come back.
- mrn22

He made a really strong move towards the end of the game behind Hank to get the puck out of the zone. Wasn't his normal self, but I thought he was pretty solid 1st game back from a groin.

Wasn't he taken off the ice for concussion protocol anyway? If that rule hadn't been in place I doubt Hank even comes off the ice.

heres my hot take from last night

you guys really wanna see a chris stewart on this team cause of the hit last night
? I think the team looks like a bunch of pussays for not atleast tackling Eakin and throwing a couple jabs but We dont need some schlep who cant play just because things like this happen once in awhile.

Henrik should be given the shutout thats some facking bullsh!t

this teams defensive play the last week-2 weeks has me very optimistic, like how they are winning some low scoring close games now. not so 1 dimensional!

Chris Stewart is still in the league?

That was the big question, could the Rangers adjust once the scoring became average again. So far so good. Was probably one of my biggest worries.

The best part was it was a PP, and people talking about having a fighter. So unless he is getting a 10 game suspension, he wouldn't be on the ice anyway.

I had a great time at the game yesterday met a bunch of new yorkers that moved down to texas, great environment, and easy to leave. My son was psyched to get a puck. lady next to me tried to reason out that the hit on hank was ok what a dumb ass

I don't think a lot of people realize that a goalie is never fair game under any circumstances

but, targeting a player's head is never acceptable. I think in this case Eakins is a player having an absolute horrible season and was trying to make something happen.

I definitely don't think he said to himself "the Rangers are a wuss team, I know they won't do anything so I am gonna take a run at Lundqvist's head"

if I had been 3 inches more left of where I was it would have caught me in the temple, I wasn't really watching for it cause the net is there just for that reason, after it grazed me I picked it up and gave it to my kid, it has the date and the teams its pretty cool.

this lady and had long discussion me mostly saying you can't hit the goalie, her saying yes you can check the rule book, and then her going over the ht to the head me telling her you can't hit to the head

I still blame Vesey, he saw the whole thing was the closest to Eakin with Skjei, and instead looked at the ref and complained instead of jumping Eakin. I don't care if Vesey got his asrse kicked, step up.

isn't amazing how loyal we are? you guys win two Cups in the early 90's and then disappear to the point where the Penguins are ready to move to Kansas City and Bettman orchestrates Crosby to your team just to keep them in Pittsburgh and to appease Mario, and now you guys act like you are the greatest fans in the world.

I watched it a couple of times now and yeah, Vesey looks to the ref, but Eakins skates really fast back to his own zone after the incident, the whistle is called and Nash engages him

I really don't think they had a whole lot of time to do something

Usually it doesn't fall on rookies for this sort of thing, that's why there's a cardinal rule that no player should go touch the new guy for instance.
