heres my hot take from last night

you guys really wanna see a chris stewart on this team cause of the hit last night? I think the team looks like a bunch of pussays for not atleast tackling Eakin and throwing a couple jabs but We dont need some schlep who cant play just because things like this happen once in awhile.

Henrik should be given the shutout thats some facking bullsh!t

this teams defensive play the last week-2 weeks has me very optimistic, like how they are winning some low scoring close games now. not so 1 dimensional!

I've wanted Stewart for years. He signed for the same money as Glass and provides more than glass. I would take a guy like that any day over having 6 of the same guy that none of them stand up for a teammate.

I think we should always pair McIlrath with Yandle

and then make sure Callahan and Dubinsky are always out there killing penalties

No, but that goes back to my point about having guys that can fight and play. Do I think Stewart would have sent a message during the rest of the game? Yup.

Here’s a name to keep an eye on as the trade deadline draws closer:

Tanner Glass.

I wait with bated breath.

when everyone's healthy, do I think there are about 15 forwards on this team better than Chris Stewart?

YES

this whole conversation is facking STUPID

would we have liked to see a little more snarl from people out on the ice when it occurred? sure

are we gunna make new lineup decisions because of a random jackarse play? FACK NO

we need an enforcer to play on the powerplay from now on just in case a team takes a shorthanded run at Lundqvist

I'm amazed that this team is 4th overall on the powerplay with these injuries though.

As infuriating as it was not to score on the PP last night

It's kind off crazy that 29 games into the season, the Islanders are 12 points out of a playoff spot, and that 5 of the 7 best teams in the NHL are in the Metro. A Metro team could go from 1st to 5th in the Division with a bad week. Not a good year to get a slow start.

there are several "fans" on twitter who insist that Girardi has been just as bad this season as he was last year. I point out how that's not possible, he is always out there killing penalties and the PK is as improved from last year as you can possibly imagine

as a matter of fact, it kind or proves beyond a doubt that Girardi's health was the overriding factor as to how bad he played last year

yes, there are other factors to the penalty killing being improved, especially the addition of Grabner, but people should not understimate how much Girardi is contributing to it

You know what, good for him. He is trying to get to the NHL, which is the right attitude. He was sent, didn't complain, didn't make a public scene, accepted it and has tried to fix his deficiencies, which he also did in the offseason. Would we rather hear, I am just here to get my $1.45 mil, play out the string and take up a roster spot?

I just say "oh boy" just that this article is out there and just the name Glass causes a bigger poop storm on the blogs and twitter this side of Dan Girardi

Advanced metrics disagree with you, and yes, I am being a troll. I think he has been better. G will never drive possession or have great zone exits and entries, but he has been better in his own zone, a shotblocking warrior and contributed at times offensively. But the numbers don't fully back that up, which I get and is a reason why he still could be moved and why a top-four RH d-man may be acquired.

I get it, why is ridiculous. It was a bad signing. He should have been benched before last year and likely not signed. He actually had a few decent moments last year which were lost because all anyone focuses on is the contract.

I don't think there is a chance he could be moved, I don't think there is a team that would be interested in that contract, when you add the NMC on top of it, I still believe he'll have to be bought out eventually to change the fact that he is a guaranteed Ranger until 2020

Quite likely and moved here meant moved down to second or third pairing and Skjei up the line.

hope so. Not a knock on G, more about unlocked potential for Mac having a more skilled partner
