I don't think there is a chance he could be moved, I don't think there is a team that would be interested in that contract, when you add the NMC on top of it, I still believe he'll have to be bought out eventually to change the fact that he is a guaranteed Ranger until 2020 - jimbro83
Before the season, I thought Girardi was guaranteed to be bought out. Now, with Klein playing so poorly, I wonder. KK makes 2.9 and Giradi's buyout will cost 1.9 for a couple years. If Graves or someone else can come in at 1-1.5m your total cost for the defense is basically the same. Bottom line, it's a long way to go, but I can actually see a scenario now where DG is kept. Is that crazy?
I think they damaged that instigator rule. I recall when it was simply a guy starting a fight with another for virtually no reason other than to fight...something along those lines. No instigator was ever assessed after a big hit or a play like from last night when a player went after another for such things. It was pretty much labled a reaction rather than instigation. Today, though, if your gloves come off a second before the other guys's you get the instigator...and that's just plain women's hockey. - mames11
Wait! There's fighting in women's hockey? That I have to see!
when everyone's healthy, do I think there are about 15 forwards on this team better than Chris Stewart?
YES - jimbro83
Our 4th line is softer than any 4th line in the league. Fast Jooris (I know he's gone) Hrivik Lindberg Jensen (I know he's sent down) etc all bring the same thing. Hustle with no finish or toughness. Stewart 28, 28, 15,18, 15, 14, 8 (in 56 games) his last 7 years. Same price as Glass. He's not some plug that's going to score 1 goal a season. Forget Stewart if u guys don't like him, the point I'm trying to make is we need a guy that can fight and play on the 3rd or 4th line. Not Tanner Glass that scores 1 goal a season and plays 7 minutes a night

IMO Stewart has as much left as Glass does, his time in today's NHL is dwindling

He still has a few good years left. I mention Stewart bc he's someone I posted on here years ago to go after. Instead we signed Glass. Kassian is another one I've mentioned in the past. They will have equal production to Fast Lindberg Hrivik Jooris Jensen. 5 of the same player (4 now that Jooris is gone) grinders that can kill penaltys. A Stewart TYPE player would help this team.

Advanced metrics disagree with you, and yes, I am being a troll. I think he has been better. G will never drive possession or have great zone exits and entries, but he has been better in his own zone, a shotblocking warrior and contributed at times offensively. But the numbers don't fully back that up, which I get and is a reason why he still could be moved and why a top-four RH d-man may be acquired. - airjan23
Not sure how I see you as being a troll, Jan. it's your blog
I agree, but we have 5 12/13th ford's that all bring the same element. No finish, can kill penalties, softer than a baby's butt. We don't need 5 of them. You said it yourself, Fast would have 0 trade value. Jensen Fast Lindberg Hrivik bring the same exact thing as well as Jooris before we got rid of him, yet you think bringing in a guy that will out score every single one of them and stand up for teammates is a bad idea??
