I'm not sure why everyone is so hard on Carrier on the top line. Do you watch him out there? He makes a lot of things happen. Yeah he hasn't been rewarded with much at all for points, but he is definitely making an impact for his linemates and creates space. There are very few lines where all three players are big-time point producers. It's about the pairs. And having a third guy with them, like a Carrier who can run around causing havoc and allowing the "pairs" the time, space and opportunites to create the offense. Also, by putting him with ROR and Sam, you've allowed Kane to be a potential scorer on another line.

Just kidding, but I don't think anyone is really ragging on him, but if you want to stay on the top line 2 pts in 18 games doesn't cut it. I get that not all top line players are major scoring threats, but most can pop in a few just based on the players around them. He has played well, he's also made some big rookie mistakes. I liked the idea when he went up there, don't have a problem that they did it, but it may do the kid good to see some 2nd and 3rd pairing defenders as well.

Im a big carrier fan, but if you want to stick around on the top line at some point that has to turn into goals and assists. its especially troubling because baptiste has 14 goals in 18 games(!!) and was given like a tenth of the chance carrier has been given.
