I had a dad want to fight me at an event we held at my rink yesterday. He was mad he had to wait in line to get in, the event started at 2, it was 1:52pm when he got in my face.

That's how I feel when I read some of the posts on here. People are arguing over nonsense.

Junior you need ADHD medication.

Broads is the old guy at a bar that thinks he knows everything.

Cabin and Kaiser are the cool old guys at the bar that you could sit with for hours and listen to their stories and when you try to get up to head to the bathroom you fall over from those guys getting you hammered.

Homie is one of the regulars you see on a golf course but I wouldn't trust to play for money cause he would clean you out.

And then there's me. I don't always pretend to be the smartest guy in the room but when I do I prefer the room to be this one. Stay thirsty my friends.

Everyone calm down. 5 outta 6 points in the last 3 games. Carolina is a boring team to play. It makes for not so good hockey. If they get 6 more points by the end of December they will be in good shape.

Everyone have a great Holiday Season (even you Broads).

It's almost amazing the amount of dead cap Murray's accumulated in just 3 years
- chilliard77

It's just weird to me that he identifies good forwards (Okposo and ROR) , yet awful D men in Bogo, Gorges and Kulikov.

He needs an assistant defensive GM

It is scary. Thank God we free up a ton of money at the end of this year, but my confidence in him spending it wisely is shaken. He could really set this team back for years with more Moulson, Frasnon signings.

There's gotta be a team out there dumb enough to take him on. If someone would trade for Gudbranson there's hope for Bogosian.

Like everyone says he has all the tools, he skates well, is built well, can get in on the offense. He's just bad at defense. I'd still like to put him in an offensive role and see what happens.

- chilliard77

Agreed 100% and I think there should be. Still a few GM's who love that kind of defensemen. Griffin Reinhart (although younger and cheaper) got the isles pick 16 and 33.

I think if TM lowered the asking price a little someone would bite (at full cap hit).

Last year they hired Terry Murray and this summer they were supposedly shopping Bogo. Hopefully the two are connected

Franson signing is fine. It was short term, reasonably priced. Comes off the books this year, no biggie. It's that we have so many guys (Moulson, Ennis, Bogosian, Gorges, Kane) on long term deals and all of them aren't performing up to their paycheck.

Yeah I got nothing.

Best part was he was doing it in front of his kid, and a cop in uniform standing behind be because I was talking to him when the dad came up.

It absolutely was though, and im not just referring to the blunder on the goal they gave up.

The two of them gave up the most shot attempts against of any player on the ice and the most scoring chances (perhaps even the best scoring chances against although unverified), including the only goal against which again was a head scratcher. They generate next to nothing offensively to make up for it.

Second, Im not prioritizing the adding a d-man because no sniper is available. This team needs another d-man no matter who they have up front, that much we have established. I have nothing to suggest that Tanev or Matheson is available. Mostly because Tanev is and should be an untouchable top pairing guy and Matheson is a young d-man the Panthers have high hopes for. Thats not who im suggesting they go after(although at some point they should go look for one).

Second pairing guys are always available for the right price, which is why I hinted that it might be the right time to revisit the Kane to VAN rumours as his recent run may have pushed his value closer to that.

This isn't a one off incident. Ristolainen and McCabe have for the most part done well in their duties as top pair. The bottom pair while overpaid has also for the most part done its job. In fact if the middle pair was any good, Risto wouldn't be forced in a situation where 25:30 minutes is considered a soft night for him.

Im not in any way suggesting that because of one play the sabres should make a trade to upgrade the second pair. They should do that because that pairing simply makes little to no plays offensively and doesn't really prevent much defensively to warrant the ice time and pay that they receive.

- Sabresfan-365

I will not argue about a place for stats in the modern game. That has already been established, and I won't revisit it.

But why is it that the goal against was outcome determinative? Why not any of the missed chances? Moulson had one. Kane had one. There was a mad scramble in the net front with Ward down and out and nobody could find the puck. The fourth line had Girgensons all set up coming around from behind the net and he fell, again.

The whole idea that shots against is the only measure of success or failure is a GIANT FLAW in the measure. The shots that aren't taken can be just as outcome determinative.

And thank you for the kind words, Stripes, but my friends won't let me sit on barstools any more because I embarrass them too often when I fall off.

Todays recipe adventure: harissa.

In the case of Okposo and ROR those were the prime targets though. I feel like those 3 d-men were all secondary targets in some way.

Kane's the guy they really wanted, bogo eats up the minutes lost with myers

Gorges came during tank season

Kulikov..i think they were just desperate for someone who shoots left, not sure how much Murray really "wanted" him.

The term and even the price to a point was okay for Franson, I guess. But I was more referring to Murray signing guys like Franson and Georges and them ending up being bottom pairing at $7.25 million. We can't do this moving forward.

Also if I were Murray I'd be talking to both Nilsson and Lehner about extensions now, see if you can get one of them to bite early and take a lower $$ deal.

What do we have that they'd want that we'd be willing to offer though?

It starts and ends with Nylander

I think the asking price is only high right now as he's hoping to reel in somebody on the hook. I have little doubt it will drop.
