I get the Poor Matthews narrative but I think it's more Babs sticking to his guns. He stated at the beginning of the year that Matthews expectations would be kept in check and that he would play on the 3rd line. I think they are just managing expectations for him.

Yeah, I'd like to see Marner with Matthews, but also understand that Matthews is better able to shelter the load of being king taint (i.e. stuck between Hyman and Brown ) better than Willie would.


Not to mention of course, Hyman - Willie - Brown would be just too much innuendo for Lou
