Exactly!
Admittedly biased. Never was a fan of any of the Ryan's, including Papa Buddy. Hated the hiring and it played out pretty much exactly how I expected. Whaley needs to go as well. - Pope of Pucks
they've been trying that approach for 16 yrs and it's done nothing for them...I've no problem with them keeping ryan for another year as long as there's that vice prez over him and whaley and as long as he dumps his brother |

it just occurred to me that their logo reminds me of a boy scout badge...although i'm sure somebody in hockey land mentioned that but I never gave it that much thought until today - Michael Pachla
It really reminds me of:

guhle may end up starting on the bottom pairing, but methinks his skill-level will move him up quickly - Michael Pachla
Certainly possible
But he's young & will make mistakes
I'm just saying to bring him along at the correct pace & not automatically think we should start him in the top4 bc he played TWO decent games |

yeah...I can see that...I just remember watching an awkward giraffe in the pocket when watching glennon...
meh...I think keeping rex is a good idea for now
IF...
they bring someone in above him and whaley to run the football operations...
same thing with the sabres...i'd love to see them with a vice president of hockey ops at the helm...
get Brandon as far away from operations as possible - Michael Pachla
Good thing he(officially) is nowhere near it. |

You used to think Pysyk was better than McCabe when you wanted someone to blame for Bogo's disasters. What changed all the sudden?
No one cares Pysyk is gone. What people care about is that Murray identified two below average D men in Kulikov and Bogosian to be top 4 players here.
Trade McCabe for all I care, just replace him with someone better - sbroads24
you really don't like bogo...or Kulikov...because they're not analytics darlings...correct? |

Fire them all. No excuses. Heads must roll. - Pope of Pucks
Why? If they finish with a winning season, you want to fire everyone? Do you understand how crazy that sounds? They need a defensive coordinator that knows what the (frank) he's doing, what's Mike Pettine or Jim Schwartz up to these days? |

yeah...I get that...solid approach...and the good thing about having the disaster-twins around is that they won't need to rush any young d-men |

Not just analytics. They aren't smart hockey players. They also just flat out don't produce to what they cost for the salary cap.
Bogosian is on what, his 6th injury in two years? You(as in the Sabres) can do better. |

Kulikov has looked pretty lost this season. I just think it's a combination of having 0 training camp with his new teammates in a new system, then getting injured just before the season and struggling through it for a few games before they finally shut it down. He gets some time to find his game. |

I get that...totally...but I will say this much...bogo's injuries have kept him from playing the type of game he's capable, of which we saw against Carolina...he jumped into the play for a shot then used his speed to get back and absolutely plaster a 'Cane player into the boards...
although he'll never be nik lidstrom-smart, he's hardly a disaster, imo |

Pysyk was fundamentally more sound than MCCabe and maybe still is. Hey Mr. Revisionist History, I wasn't looking for someone to shelter Bogo but reality is reality he was playing with a young Dman. The McCabe today is not the one he was two years ago or the one even last year.
You have crashed and burned on Dmen, my man and you are trying to make up for it. Stick to forwards, they are less complicated to analyze and usually take less time for your impatient mind to maybe to get right once in awhile. Kuli is better overall than Pysyk, Myers was never a #1 D, or #2 D; McNabb is a 5,6.7 D I could go on but if you disagree with the Sportsnet article go post there and let Damen Cox have it and show him the numbers!!

Defensemen are more than producers in the offensive zone but I've gone ovet this many times with you and won't again. |

Compared to your average NHL player, he's not a disaster, compared to other 5 million dollar top 3 picks, he's an epic disaster |

Welp, still waiting for Bogosian and Kulikov to prove me wrong. So far it's been injuries, bad play and no points. |

overanalyzing will do that to you...
and btw, give kuli a break already...he missed camp because of the world cup, was injured in preseason...came back too early and tried to play injured...all of this for a new team |
