overreacting...imo - Michael Pachla
I think $5M is the average NHL defenders salary these days. It has been a while since I looked. |

Can you make any case whatsoever that Zach Bogosian is a top 90 D man? Can anyone?
According to reports, no one would even take him off our hands in the offseason |

overanalyzing will do that to you...
and btw, give kuli a break already...he missed camp because of the world cup, was injured in preseason...came back too early and tried to play injured...all of this for a new team - Michael Pachla
This is the same song and dance we did for Kane.
What were the expectations for Kane? 30 goals on the top line. What is he really? 20 goals on the 2nd or 3rd line.
What were the expectations of Kulikov? Ristolainen's LHD partner. Where is he now? On a pairing below. |

who's reports?...and even outside the top-90, which may be a little strong, he's still a top-four d-man |

Do you even know what TM was asking for for him? They may not have taken him for the price TM put on him, the rumors were around the Hall trade rumors time. You spew out a lot of crap. |

Kulikov has looked pretty lost this season. I just think it's a combination of having 0 training camp with his new teammates in a new system, then getting injured just before the season and struggling through it for a few games before they finally shut it down. He gets some time to find his game. - Wetbandit1
I have the same thoughts . |

we've gone over this many times before...you're expectations may have been 30 goals while many other expected less...
and, yes, players coming off of major injuries like shoulder surgery or mcl should get some slack...
kane's playing up to his capabilities as of late...four goals and an assist in his last five games including a pretty important game-tying goal |

Can he start performing like one then? At what point does he actually play to his ability?
Having 0 points 31 games into an NHL season is not what a top 4 NHL defender does. And yes I know he was hurt, for the hundredth time in his career |

No team has the perfect roster . Every team has their Kanes and Bogos, Gorges . If it was really that easy the way some biOtch like it is ,Every team would be doing it . |

So we are shrinking Kane's sample size to make it look better? What about the first 10 games he was dressed without a goal? |

he just got back from an mcl injury...in fact the defense is finally getting healthy...
from my last blog:
The Sabres haven't had a fully healthy d-corps for quite a while. In fact they've only played a handful of games with the defense as laid out over the summer.
Buffalo started out the season with Dmitry Kulikov out and upon his return one game into the season they played the next eight games with their top-six intact. From October 16 to November 1 Buffalo went 4-2-2 for 10 points. Projected out over an 82-game season that's 102 points for that stretch with a complete d-corps.
Also during that eight-game span the Sabres outscored their opponents by a combined 21-17 or an average of 2.63 to 2.13.
And they had their only three-game winning streak of the season outscoring their opponents by a combined 8-2 score.

he was recovering from four broken ribs...he looks 100% right now but plz, feel free to cling to those 10 games for the rest of the season |

Gorges is your average veteran Dman, but this team has no place for average veteran Dmen at the moment who help younger players develop on and off the ice. |

None of that fits his narrative though so he doesn't count it.
Same thing I said about the forwards when the top 6 was injured which technically it still is since Ennis is still out.
I have hope and I believe the team is going to be good this season and really good next.
Oh and Lehner stinks even though he gets no goal support!

with risto, McCabe, analytics darling Franson plus gorgeous gorges and the disaster twins...that's what the win/loss column says to this point...and they did it without Eichel too |

It was Risto for Hall and that is it, not Bogo. Murray hung up many times. |

So where was the blog about how we have a winning record without Evander Kane? Or are we just choosing to be homers about who TM acquires? |
