you know guys, if everyone ignores him, he's wont have anyone to talk to...
- seedy

it's either f@ck with him or watch lehner choke in a shoot out (watch the sabres lose)

or remind him that David Legwand was also a second overall pick.
….I guess that falls under the category of f@cking with him though.

Daniel Sedin - taken #2 in the 1999 draft

Year 1 - 20 g + 14 a = 34 pts
Year 2 - 9 g + 23 a = 32 pts
Year 3 - 14 g + 17 a = 31 pts
Year 4 - 18 g - 36 a = 54 pts
NHL Totals (to date) - 365 g + 599 a = 964 pts

Sam Reinhart
Year 1 - 23 g + 19 a = 42 pts
Year 2 - 19 g + 27 a = 46 pts *extrapolated through 82 games

Who is the bigger bust - Sedin or Reinhart, based on their first couple of years in the NHL? I live in BC and I can remember everyone roasting both of the Sedins - and they still do. They say they aren't very big, don't skate very well and have average shots. Well, both the Sedins have turned out pretty good (Henrick #3 overall has 992 points). Unless you are producing immediately out of the gate at a scorching rate, you have no future in the NHL according to fellow poster Gerbe.

Brady
Brees
Wilson
Roethlisberger
Flacco
Brady
Rodgers

all have 2 things in common

super bowl rings
not drafted in the top 10

exception, is Eli

- homiedclown

To be fair, Rodgers fell farther than he should have, even in the draft, not just because he's a great QB and should've gone earlier. Teams made bad choices. Roethlisberger was drafted 11th and only because of Manning and Rivers, neither of those guys and he goes first.

I get what you're saying, but you have to be lucky to get a QB outside the top 10 and what about this team/city makes you think they'll get lucky?

I have to admit the rebound control troubles me.

But only 1 of the 3 goals last night were rebound goals. It seems the team is aware of the issue and does really well clearing away the loose change. Except, last night on the first goal, Larry.

Is this the only example in 17 years of a guy drafted that high, taking 3 years to "get going"?

So on the non-shootout/lehner/rhino front...

Eichel looks less than 100%....in both endurance and injury rehab....which i guess both are to be expected

but the problem is that this team is already leaning very heavily on him to win them games

AND....Risto 5th in the league in TOI/GP and in a 3-way tie for 4th in points for Dmen....he's tied with Keith and Shattenkirk while having played 4 and 3 games less than them respectively....#1

EDIT: and before someone who shall not be named female doges about him only getting points on the PP....10 of his 23 points have come at even strength (thats 43% fyi...)

With Eichel not playing like himself some nights, 55 is the best player on the team

All I know is that in each of the last 5-7 games, we've seen 1-2 periods of a truly different Sabres team. I think it's the team we have been working towards having for the future Let's just hope they keep stringing them together more often. We're getting closer!

I can't count how many times the Panthers had 2 or 3 guys on Eichel last night, but he's not playing well ??? this site amazes me. Same thing with Sam, people can't wait to jump on him and Bogo but now it's Eichel. Get a clue people.

He didn't play well from what I saw last night. Granted, I didn't see a ton of period 1 and 2, but he made a few boneheaded plays in OT.

He's my favorite player, not dogging him

wgr trained you well with excuses for why everything in buffalo sucks

so when ror and eichel are hurt, and reinhart is dropped to the 3rd line, the skunk is suppose to do what Draisaitl does playing with Mcdavid or Pastrnak playing with Marchand and Krejci

- homiedclown

But if you watch those players they have all produced at high levels without those players also but Sam ? and Pasternak is nasty don't tell me you would not trade Sam for him in a second

Or you can see he's playing exactly like he did last year but this time the points are not happening

like I said it be wise for the Sabres to rest him practices or games so he lasts the whole season if playoffs happen
