Did I see people talking about trading Reinhart? Not really "people" per se, just Gerbe. Through there have been some occasional suggestions he is the best tool to acquire a #1D.

Can someone explain that to me so I may mock the idea without doing backreading? I think it will suffice to just say it's mostly Gerbe.

Duchesne is basically getting the same player back, just with more experience (i.e. older and more expensive).

Landeskog is similar, though he's a true winger and has more 2-way capability, while Sam has higher offensive upside.

So personally I'd hate either of those moves.

#1 dman... hmm. I think we need a middle pairing defenseman to help move Bogo down the roster and move either Georges or Franson into a reserve spot. I personally don't mind Risto and McCabe together, and think they could mature into a pretty dynamite top pairing, and then we also need to make room for Guhle eventually.

Hate it less, but I think Sam is basically our only bonafide playmaking forward and a great compliment to Eichel / Oreilly.

that leaves you with your core of

eichel, ror, okposo, reinhart, nylander, kane up front

risto, mccabe, guhle on the back end

use any asset you have to get that other winger and other d man


with all the crap we have in picks, prospects, rentals, 3rd liners........

we have the stuff to make 1 or 2 trades for a d man and fringe second line player


but murray has to win those trades
