not really. not counting tonights loss its 11 out of a possible 22.
Edit 13 - Sabresfan-365
I'm not saying they're playing well, far from it, but there is middle ground between being really good and being really bad. |

We need a serious re-tooling of this roster. I know that it's premature but I'm starting to think we'll never have success under current management - chilliard77
We're not going to. A few weeks ago I said that and I was instructed to kill myself. |

And most people act like we've gotten 3. - Wetbandit1
Because the "if only we weren't hurt" excuse has dried up. This was the healthy team people thought would compete for a playoff spot. |

Stop. This is supposed to be a playoff team. Especially with Eichel, especially in a weak division.
Some people want to hold them to any sort of standard |

On a side note I think one of two things is going on with Marlene and the smokers ad.
1. MSG is openly trolling Buffalo at it's lowest point in sports.
2. The Pegula's are openly trolling Buffalo at it's lowest point in sports and ordered the commercial to play ten times a game |

I like when the Sabres win for two reasons:
The Sabres won

Honest question: What are your thoughts on the Bills and do you think it is fair to criticize them after all these years?
And second, when is it OK to do the same with the Sabres? |

1. I think the Bills are a joke and have been since the mid 90's. I think it's very fair to criticize them until they start to act like all the other teams in the league. Sometimes following the trend in sports is a good thing. You don't always have to be living in the past.
2. The Sabres are not at Bills levels of misery yet. They also have what should be an elite superstar in an important playmaking position of their team. Something the Bills haven't had since Kelly |

Again, that's fine, when have you seen me praising them? But acting like they're the worst team in hockey ever is a bit disingenuous too, no? Every mistake is beaten to death here. Standards are one thing, but take a step back and look at the bigger picture, we're a mini hot streak away, if we can keep pace it'll be fine. And you never thought we'd make the playoffs this year, so how can you say you have expectations for them? Are you familiar with the term cognitive dissonance? |

It's so bizarre. Look at this team. Look at the contracts, draft statuses. Cup winning coach. Rich owner willing to spend. Half-wit GM, but they should never actually be good. We just pretend they are until it's painfully obvious they aren't |

No we are not. We are a big hot streak away, followed by 3 other teams having cold streaks away.

Eichel is the only difference. Firing a coach every two years is becoming a trend. |

thought they'd put together a team worthy of contending for it. Or at least shed some of the dead weight. |

Not to mention I absolutely thought playoffs this year. I don't know what he's talking about. That only changed after Eichel |

A large part of Detroit's success came from the Russian fivesome of defencemen Vyacheslav Fetisov and Vladimir Konstantinov and forwards Igor Larionov, Sergei Fedorov, and Slava Kozlov. The uniting of these five was inspired, to say the least. Bowman had two veterans in Fetisov and Larionov who were revered by the next generation of players, among whom the other three were the cream of the crop. Not only had all the players grown up under the Soviet system of hockey, the younger players were inspired by and motivated by their elders, and the veterans in turn acted as de facto coaches for their Soviet protégés.
The result was a Stanley Cup which was of historic significance as the wily Bowman took a page from the old Soviet playbook and used it in a modern way with a combination of old school and new school players. The political meaning of the coaching strategy was almost as important as the hockey results. Had Bowman used a five-man unit in 1972, he might have been branded a traitor. In 1997, he was called a genius.

Well, the Russians influenced our elections, maybe Bylsma can study their five man units. I'll take the Russians and Scotty Bowman who utilized this in Detroit beginning in 1997 over two man forward lines with any other slug thrown in. Cohesiveness is huge in the other sports, football, basketball but in hockey cohesiveness is what we see on the PP and PK but not so much 5 on 5. |

I didnt, but to his (murray) own words you expect to see some kind of improvement year to year. Dont really see that. |
