The organization seems to be struggling on so many levels.
They shouldn't have rushed the rebuild. They're going to have to rebuild the rebuild like Edmonton - walshyleafsfan
That's what's I said. Two draft days ago when we started trading away the draft pick stockpile to win now I was literally sweating and throwing poop. And here we are. |

No....Bylsma is ruining the rebuild with his bullpoop system...and everybody is finally seeing what a few of us saw 10 games into this poop ass season - feetontheair22
Honestly. I just look at the roster and don't think it's very good. I don't think Bylsma can do too much with that roster |

The Kane and O'Reilly trades were silly (even though ROR is good). The timing if the trades were unnecessary |

This summer I predicted regression from this team and it's looking more and more like that is what we are going to get.
GMTM is clueless. He accelerated the rebuild and in the process squandered prime assets.
The future is not nearly as bright as we all thought it would be in the year of the tank.
Unfortunately, the Leafs duo of Marner/Mathews is better than our Reinhart/Eichel duo. The Leafs also have superior coaching and a better prospect pool that we do.
Sadly, the only way we can hope to keep up with the Leafs is to tank another season or two.
We need GMTM to reverse course and start stockpiling more futures. Trading any and all of our veterans at the deadline for picks/prospects is the proper course. |

Slow.
I started the questioning back in Late Nov. /Early Dec. 2015...last year.
The offense is allowed to carry the puck in, and if they do get a rush up ice, they are flat, strung across the line...no depth to their zone entry.
Of course, what else would you expect from a career 4th liner .... bring Kaleta in as Coach, couldn't get worse.

Coaches who thrust their system on the players are fools. Great coaches are those who can mold an effective system around the skill of the players on hand.
This is precisely why I was pissed when the Bills brought in Ryan...bescause he changed the D-scheme requiring a good sized investment of draft choices to acquire enough talent that can play that scheme...2 wasted drafts trying to accomplish this...and they are still 1 or 2 away.
So NOW they figure is the time to fire Rex and Hey, let's change schemes! Great idea..Whaley and Brandon should be so proud and high-five each other. Peggy, Brandon Whaley...dumb, dumber and dumbest.
Get Disco Dan out of her before he dooms this team. Get a guy who can coach multiple systems depending on the makeup of the team. |

who to get as the next sabres coach, if they have the balls to make a move mid season?

Good question.
Gallant could be a target....but I'm not knowledgeable on who is available, and more importantly who has enough knowledge themselves to employ the proper system for the construct of this roster. |

The O'Reilly trade I was ok with. Guys like that don't just become available. Overall though I was ready to be patient and build through the draft. |

That trade and the Weber trade are the only two that have made this team better. |

If someone remembers, I'd love to see a timeline of the point where we had our peak stock of pics. The numbers were insane. |

Merry Christmas everyone, even if you're Jewish, Muslim, Republican, whatever.
Random thoughts:
I dropped my Fios TV so I can't watch games anymore, but I'm hoping we fire DD soon and whomever takes over leads the team to a massive second-half-of-the-year run that gets us into not just the playoffs, but the Cup finals.
I have enough venison (bagged Thursday and butchered yesterday), bourbon (Bulleit), Heineken, champaigne, and absinthe to get me to the New Year no matter what the Sabres do.
My wife makes the best dang guacamole ever.
Homemade pierogies tonight and venison on the grill tomorrow, plus a crap-ton of cookies. Amen!
XMas on Sunday means no work on Monday!
