Mason needed and deserved a rest. Mistake by Hakstol not to give him the whole night off. At this point they should have no qualms about giving Stollie a start, although i get trying to go with the hot hand, the hand needs a rest here and there. |

It's hilarious watching the Flyers have mental meltdowns out there and dig themselves a hole due to their own inability to control their emotions. 0 composure. Pretty standard Devils v Flyers game. - SnipeDevil6

can someone explain to me the instigator rule?
it seems anytime there is a big hit, when the other team grabs the hitter and starts a fight, that player gets added minutes (often 10 min misconduct) tacked on to a 5 minute major
yet last night after the manning collision with the devil player, a similar fight broke out but the penalties I believe ended up even, although I'm not 100% certain as the tv announcers never went through what was called there
in no way am I making any excuses for the loss, the flyers deserved what they got last night
just trying to figure how this penalty is applied...
is it something the refs decide arbitrarily?

Last night was nothing more than a schedule loss. Desperate team on a losing streak playing at home after being ripped and called soft, playing a team that played the night before against a quality opponent who plays a physical brand of hockey
Freaking hate this compressed schedule. I give New Jersey credit for winning the game, but that was nothing more than a schedule loss in my book - AllInForFlyers

It seems arbitrary, even to the point where they call roughing so the instigator doesn't get thrown out of the game. Flyers benefited from that last week when Raffl got laid out and Voracek went after Landeskog. |

Not much hoping for a win tonight, but not confident at all just got walked out by the pens and still missing 3 of our top six forwards, but other than that all is good man the metro is real strong we lose one game drop two spots and Columbus has 4 games in hand. |

For my last post before Xmas I'll just point out that Brayden Schenn scored 1 point in the 135 minutes he spent playing 5 on 5 hockey with Travis Konecny.
That's not a line anyone should be sad to see the end of. |

been real happy with the team recently. That game had me worried when I saw it on the schedule. They always have trouble with the Devels, who only win at home and have only lost a couple there this year. They have been super without Coots and things will take off again when he gets back. OK, all you Coots bashers can hope on board now.
Where will he play? 2C of course.
Here is the strongest line up I would play.
11-28-93. TK needs Jake to skate with.
10-14-17.. these guys play great together and can hide Schenns D weaknesses
24-12-22,13
Hate to break up this line cause it seems to work so
76-78-13
Cousins and Lieier fill in and Gordon goes home.
The D as is unless they call up Morin for a little beef. Would have loved him for both the last two games.
I know it would suck to have Cousins and Leier sit now but they aren't going to bump the vets out now.
I hope next year, no 76, 78, 32 and Schultz for sure. We can hope Read is picked by Vegas or gets bought out. Can't see them picking AMac with three years left on his contract
On an aside, Concrats to Jagr on passing Messier for second place on the all time points scored list.
I live in SW FLA and was at the game last night. Cats are sucking but that was still quite a thrill to be there last night. Not ten thousand people can say they saw that in person. Crowd was cheering for ten minutes. Had videos from Mess and Gretzkyand an interview with Jags. Nice time |

I want to see a Ghost/Morin pair. I don't think the other team would be so eager to dump and chase as they are now when Ghost is out there. He is just so often overmatched physically. I'm starting to lean on the side of giving Morin a shot this spring if management feels he's deserving of it. I can see our D getting worn down over the course of the rest of the season. Who sits? Manning probably. Easy swap.

Injuries aside, I don't see anyone sitting.
I think they'd even do Schultz before Morin. I'd love to see the kid but the Phantoms are playing well and it may be good for him to be a part of that. |
