A lot of people here like Murray, and I'm one of them. But to take the standpoint that if you criticize Murray in anyway your just a hater and here to just female dog, that's B.S.
You want a few examples of how Murray screwed up?
Signing Moulson.
Trading McNabb an NHL ready defenseman who now is a top 4 on a much better, plus to second rounders for D-Lo a waiver wire caliber guy, and Fasching a 4th rounder who also has showed nothing so far two years after the trade.
Trading the equivalency of Myers for Bogogian.
Trading picks 21 & 26 in the 2016 draft (A very deep draft) for not much in return. Those picks could have really helped our system by now.
Yes, trading Pysyk for Kuli was a mistake, we'll get a second for Kuli at the deadline if we're lucky. And if Asplund was so important, than trading a 3rd to move up five spot would have gotten the job done, most likely.
Hiring Bylsma.
Not firing Bylsma, yet.
If true. Not trading Stewart for Spooner.
But, Murray has also made some real nice moves, too. RoR, the Miller/Ott trade, signing Okposo. In the end, he's batting 500, and has legitimately bought himself some criticism which people have a right to discuss. He has a record here now and he has to own it.

While he actually consummated the Miller/Ott trade, it was Darcy's deal all the way and Murray has admitted as much.
If someone can find an article on who actually pulled out of the Stewart/Spooner deal that would be nice, because there seems to be some disagreement about who actually pulled out of the deal. I could've sworn it was Chia, someone else thought so too, but 365 thinks it was Murray.
I think the only mistake with Moulson was giving him 5 years, but he probably had to to actually get him to sign here. They needed celery to get to the floor and Moulson was a proven 30 goal scorer, nobody thought he'd fall off a cliff. He's looked better this year, but that's not saying much. I actually notice him a few times a game whereas he was on a milk carton for all of last year.
The worst move by far is the McNabb trade, not that McNabb is amazing or anything, but he'd probably be the 3rd best defenseman on this team. Trading an NHL ready defenseman and 2 2nds for Deslauries, and some 3rd or 4th round pick(Fasching)? A real head-scratcher.
I'm fine with the Lehner deal, he's a good goalie and for some reason people can't see it. His numbers are good. He's having big problems in the shootout, but the players need to score more so that they don't get to the shootout in a 2-2 game.
I don't think Bylsma was a Murray hiring as much as it was Pegula telling him to hire the biggest name he could. As for not firing him yet, I think it's a bit early, if it's true he's lost the room then, by all means get rid of him. But the underlying numbers point to players not being able to execute more than anything else, they're 5th in the league in scoring chances for 5v5, but they're what, last in scoring? 2nd last? They're above average in goals against. They should be better than they are. Their SH% is dogpoop. If just one more post/missed open net a game goes in they'd be fine. I was convinced Okposo hit the crossbar last night, because that's been the story this season, you can't get a better look than he had and they usually (frank) it up, but surprisingly, he scored.
The Jets deal, that's been done to death. |

Huh, that's interesting. I never heard about Darcy having anything to do with that trade. |

So it remains to be seen what the Bruins will get for Spooner after they offered him and a draft pick to Buffalo for rental forward Chris Stewart a couple of years ago. That was a deal Sabres GM Tim Murray turned down before trading Stewart for considerably less at the trade deadline.

SPOONER AND A DRAFT PICK. GET HIM OUT OF HERE - Sabresfan-365
So there we have it. I was wrong. He certainly had a good year last year, but is struggling mightily this year. Who knows, maybe he's a flash in the pan like Girgensons was, or maybe he needs a change of scenery, although nothing has changed in Boston, so the drop off is a bit concerning. |

You think you have frustration? More so than us who have been through the 4 super bowls and the SCF and ECF? It's the problem with generation Y (also known as Millennials). Why can't I have this? Why can't I have that? Why do I have to work for anything? Why don't people just hand me things that I want? - adambuffalo

They are not prospects, maybe Zadorov but he blows. Eichel, Reinhart and Risto were pretty much drafted and playing with Buffalo, and yes I know Risto played in the A. |

That's my point, our prospects are lacking because they're all in the NHL. |

ok, now for the good things Murray has done
1. finding more than serviceable back up goalies, many times we expected the worst
Nilsson
Johnson
Lindback
Neuvirth
2. getting decent value for miller and ott
in essence he got a 1st, a 2nd, a 3rd and Carrier (2nd from moving stewart)
3. getting a throw in for the ROR trade, Mcginn
I had no expectations for him with his back, he performed well and we got a 3rd rd pick for him at the end.
4. trading Moulson and spice boy to the wild, getting in essence 2 2nds and a 7th (moving mitchell)
The crazy part which I give him credit for is he got them to sign with us as ufa's a few months later. I never agreed bring Moulson back but being able to convince a player to go elsewhere and then come back as a free agent says something.
5. getting a 3rd for mike weber, nuff said
the draft picks will play out and we will know more in 5 years, but there has been some good things done
I will avoid talking about the bad for a day or 2
