I think when he fell into the open bench door it did more damage than originally reported/believed. - adambuffalo
True story: I was a little drunk one night when I was about 20. Still at home with my parents.
We had a small set of stairs about waist height, leading up to our front door. I opened the screen door to let in a cat and a gust of wind blew the door wide open with my hand twisted in the handle.
Drunk me decides it was better to jump with the door instead of letting go and when I landed, my tailbone came down right on the corner of the stairs, full force.
I couldn't sit for almost a month, I could hardly walk for the first week, and it lingered for several months later. I couldn't play hockey or skateboard for a few months and my tailbone is now crooked, and bent at an angle sideways a little at the tip.
It's a horrid injury. |

GMTM has made a lot of sketchy trades, but Pysyk for Kulikov might be the winnar. - BeadyEyedDouche
I don't know if I would have dumped Pysyk like that, I didn't think he was a bad defenseman. But, to be fair, Murray could not have known of the upcoming freak accident Kuli would have that would plague him here. A lot of people also point to moving up in the draft to grab Asplund (Not an intentional pun) but so far I don't see what the hype is in the footage I've watched of the guy. Has anyone here been watching the tournament? How does he look? |

murray did not like him
after saying that, I am sure there was other options to clean house than moving pysyk
I didn't notice him watching the panthers the other night, which is usually a good thing
I do notice bogo, gorges, franson and kulikov, and not in a good way |

Bottom line, Murray inherited a great group of young D-Men and pretty much destroyed it.
Myers
Zadorov
McNabb
Pysyk
Would love to have them 4 back playing with Risto and McCabe |

Yeah, that was the thing about Pysyk, you didn't notice him, which meant he was doing his job as a stay-at-home defenseman who was in the right position. I understand it's Murray's decision but like with McNabb we put years of development into Pysyk and then send him packing once he's ready to be a full-time NHLer. Makes no sense to me. |

They have to interview guys like Bylsma all the time, they become friends. It's tough to see people regularly and have a relationship with them and then go on the air to bash them and say they need to be fired. I'm sure they think Bylsma sucks, they just don't have a delicate way of getting that across. |

I'm not a fan of Bylsma, but didn't it show somewhere recently that Buffalo is in the top 5 in scoring chances and something like 27th in scoring. I think that shows the coach getting the plays made and the players not burying their chances. |

Watching the pregame shows before the last Bills game (maybe two weeks ago), Bill Cowher was really pulling for the Bills and seemed pretty sincere about wanting them to be good again. Maybe Pegula's Pittsburgh ties (and money) can convince Bill to come back to coaching. |

not sure about great...
--fans were ready to drive myers to the airport as he struggled mightily while making over $5M/year and they complain when bogo is sidelined while myers has been out over a month and had injury problems in buffalo
--zads is a minus-14 with zero goals in 34 games this season...last year he played in only 22 games scoring zero goals and was a minus-5...plus he's was a head case who got in trouble with the team
--mcnabb was big, but couldn't skate and came into his own after playing in an excellent organization with quality d-partners...I kinda miss him
--Pysyk isn't known for his skating and was afraid to consistently jump into the play like murray, and I assume Bylsma, wanted him to when he was here...
I get why people are pissed at this present group of d-men, but I won't subscribe to the notion that those who left were the missing pieces on d |

This is a good post. When they are here, they are hated and everyone wants to trade them. When they leave, the GM made a huge mistake and never should have let the guy go. When Girgs, Ennis, Kane and other whipping boys (Reinhart?) are moved, they will suddenly become fantastic players on team "x". Book it.

Not if the players replacing them are actually good.
If Kulikov actually played well, this would barely be a discussion |

Well maybe not great,
I still Think McNabb and Pysyk were the worst trades, unless Asplund and Fauching make a big impact.
The bottom line is, I think he traded away too many D-men and the ones he substituted in aren't doing a great job here.
I could do with McNabb and Pysyk in this lineup to stabilize it.
Myers and Zads I can let go of for the return we got. Still expected better of Bogo! |

kuli's had a rough go of it, no doubt and it makes the Pysyk trade look extremely bad...that said, read beadyeyeddouche's post above about a tail bone injury...methinks it's been a problem all season...
imo, best thing for kuli and the sabres is for him to have more time to heal...not a super long time because we want him ready well before the trade deadline but enough time where he can play with minimal discomfort |
