lets see if he sustains it beyond this season. for all that went wrong for Columbus last year (I predicted them to make the playoffs), all is going right for them this season. good health, good production - nastyflyergirl
I'm hoping their shooting % comes down to reality too...I believe it just has too
8 people above 15% is not sustainable.
Neither are Bob's Groin muscles.

Facing bigger teams and getting manhandled. Pens have the speed/skill to overcome it the flyers don't have it. It's not that hard to figure out. |

Being big and fast would be awesome, but at this point, I'd settle for being at least one of them. More skill throughout the lineup would be nice too. After G, Jake, Konecny, Ghost and Provorov there is a pretty big drop off when it comes to top end skill.

I'd like to see more emphasis on that in the draft. Not solely on size and speed but a lot of average skaters in the forward prospects.
Maybe dont worry so much if guys can play a "good defensive game". |

The lack of development by Laughton and morin has hurt this team into making more headway. People can say what they want. But a 13th overall and I believe a 20th overall should be up and contributing in some kind of capacity by now. Morins lack of offense means he better be as savvy as a Karl Alzner to be considered a top 4 d in this league. I'm not sure if he has that level of hockey sense. Laughton doesn't have much time left before he's not considered a prospect anymore and just a bust. If he's not up by the end of this year it's fair to label him a bust |

Greetings from the Bell Center. I'm at the Swe-Czech game. Czechs are pretty outmatched. Sandstrom is not starting. I'll share any news on our guys. |

There is no set formula or time frame for a prospect developing into a full time NHL player, regardless of where he was drafted. How much of Morin have you watched play in professional hockey to question his hockey sense? I can understand having question marks about Laughton at this point, but not Morin. Way too premature for that, and quite frankly ridiculous.

Morin still needs time. He has a lot of raw skills and needs to develop them. I'm ok if he takes till next year to come up to the big club. I would be shocked to see sanheim as well next year. |

With the Flyers scuffling offensively, Flyers head coach Dave Hakstol's decision to make rookie forward Travis Konecny a healthy scratch in San Jose was puzzling and hard to defend.
THIS! - BiggE
San Jose are the Western Champions. Travis Konecny just came off a two assist game in St Louis. After a game like New Jersey, Yes, you need all hands on deck to play with the Sharks. I don't have an issue with sitting Konecny but only if the time feels, right. Lyubimov in favor of Gordon is another bad decision because Gordon hasn't done anything that makes him irrelevant in the NHL. In fact I would waive him for the rest of the season.
Lyubimov has sat enough. One bad penalty coming off a long break, I think is a little much. I think Lyubimov has seen enough scratches. I think it's time to consider Cousins and dare I say Vandevelde who has been in part of a questionable penalty kill lately. |

Did you mention vdv in the same sentence as scratch!!!??? oh no you didn't, but we all know what you mean. gotta have those 14-15 type forwards playing ahead of our top prospects. cmon now. where have you been. |

Hmmmmm how would Patrick Maroon look with 28-93.3 if he didn't do whatever he did to be banished...

Please. Holmgren acquired that stud Danny Syvret for Maroon. Flyers won that trade big league. Not even an issue. |

Domi and Kocur broke it up.

The Flyers next year might look like this:
12-28-93
11-14-17
Lindblom-xxxx-10
58-25/21/etc-13/24/22
That's a solid lineup! As the last two years have gone, 3C has been a giant hole. We don't need a superstar, we just need a good 30+ point player, one who is solid as a play driver. Namestnikov is an intriguing name because Tampa can't protect him. Then with Lindblom and Schenn, or Raffl and Simmer, or whatever combo, the top 9 wings are stacked and 3 lines deep, so it doesn't matter! Especially with expansion looming, they're out there if a team can't protect them. Get that and cut some of the fat from the bottom, and that's a damned good lineup with Lindblom surely coming into the fold next year.
Flyers just can't go another offseason thinking guys like Boyd Gordon and Dale Weise are what this team is lacking. A quality 3C is priority #1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. I only hope they choose wisely this time as well. |
