The Flyers next year might look like this:

12-28-93
11-14-17
Lindblom-xxxx-10
58-25/21/etc-13/24/22

That's a solid lineup! As the last two years have gone, 3C has been a giant hole. We don't need a superstar, we just need a good 30+ point player, one who is solid as a play driver. Namestnikov is an intriguing name because Tampa can't protect him. Then with Lindblom and Schenn, or Raffl and Simmer, or whatever combo, the top 9 wings are stacked and 3 lines deep, so it doesn't matter! Especially with expansion looming, they're out there if a team can't protect them. Get that and cut some of the fat from the bottom, and that's a damned good lineup with Lindblom surely coming into the fold next year.

Flyers just can't go another offseason thinking guys like Boyd Gordon and Dale Weise are what this team is lacking. A quality 3C is priority #1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. I only hope they choose wisely this time as well.

Your boy Keller looks dominant. Briere esque.

Weise has been brutal. No consistent physical game, slow and no creativity to his offensive game. That catalyst effect is really missing on offense. G, V and Konecny only ones who bring it consistently.

I can't get a break. I looked for the Goose Island Bourbon Barrel bear and it was all gone. I tried the Firestone/Walker 20 year Anniversary beer and loved it. Now I can't find that. Any more common alternatives I could get for the new year?

Had too many times where I got dumb drunk off beer. Can't really drink it anymore for whatever reason.

Rum all the way.

That was my choice years ago, but it goes down too fast and I'd probably be divorced

I used to love the Lagavlin(sp) 15 year old.

There is no set formula or time frame for a prospect developing into a full time NHL player, regardless of where he was drafted. How much of Morin have you watched play in professional hockey to question his hockey sense? I can understand having question marks about Laughton at this point, but not Morin. Way too premature for that, and quite frankly ridiculous.
- MJL

Questioning what role Morin is likely to fill at the NHL level at this point in his development is far from ridiculous. Any other hyperbolic thoughts you'd like to address?

Took what would have been a legal check in the NHL behind the net. the ref said it was a hit to the head but it was more about the impact.

Just wanted to say pop in and say that in all fairness, because I am on record that the signing wasn't good and he clearly hasn't done enough to this point, but Dale Weise was pretty clearly one of the most effective forwards last night.

It would be really helpful if he played like that more often

Took a borderline high hit behind by an American forechecker, either injured his upper body or a concussion because he's still not back.

They called it interference so I guess they believed it was a late hit

IIHF rules/refs are soft AF..should have been a regular 2 min penalty

They sure as hell are. Watched most of the games like every year. Do they seem more sensitive this yr or is it just me?

What you said about Morin is that he should be up with the team by now, contributing in some way, and you questioned his hockey sense. That's ridiculous. Morin is in his 2nd year of pro hockey, and could probably be playing in the NHL now, if they wanted to rush him. When it comes to development, every player is an individual.

I thought the same thing. I didn't see the 3rd period, but I thought Weise had some good shifts. Too early for me to call it a bad signing.

He had a strong third, too. Giroux picked it up a bit. Voracek never got going, but it wasn't all him. Just one of those nights where he couldn't get the puck with any speed or room. He probably could've moved his feet more in the neutral zone and on the backcheck to get the puck, but he wasn't alone in that

He's finding out that skating 1-on-3 when you're not playing against a bunch of random 16 year olds doesn't work well.

Facing bigger teams and getting manhandled. Pens have the speed/skill to overcome it the flyers don't have it. It's not that hard to figure out.
