There is no question an 11th overall pick from 2013 should be in the NHL by 2017 contributing in some way. I'm ok with not rushing him, but the fact that he's in the AHL not scoring many points and seemingly not banging down the NHL door halfway through the 16-17 season is a bit worrisome. He's on pace for less points this year and a bigger minus. - Just5
That team would crumble without Morin and Sanheim. Their importance to that team, though Gordon may not realize it, cannot be understated. Lucky for them they'll get Myers and Friedman next year.
Morin exclusively sees matchup minutes and the toughest starts and usage. Gets very little in the way of any offensive situations, no PP. O'Neill and Brennan are offensive vampires. The kids do all the tough work and they get to benefit from it and not bother playing defense. I have always had mixed feelings with Morin, but right now he's playing his role down there and has generally looked fine. Points are probably just flukey. |

Are you seriously going to hang your hat on Morin's point production? There are many examples of how quality defenseman have developed and what the time frame was from the time that they were drafted, and when they made it into the NHL that shows that your statement that there is no question that he should be in the NHL by now and that is an indictment against him, is complete nonsense.
It was well known when they drafted Morin, that he was raw, and was going to need developmental time. |

You're already in mid year form, well done.
edit: all kidding aside, if Laughton is not a Flyers regular by the start of 17-18, I think it's safe to call him a bust.

So you don't think that Laughton could be called a bust if he can't crack the roster by next season? |

The statement I made that you replied to, was concerning Morin, not Laughton.

Guess you missed the edit where I spoke about Laughton. I happen to agree with you about Morin, I'm fine with how they are developing him and the progress he's made so far.

Nothing was missed. For some unknown odd reason, you assumed I had offered a position on Laughton being considered a bust. |
