Yeah, definitely a lot of guys we can do without. I think Kulikov is 77.
I don't think Gionta is dead weight. He's fine on the 3rd line right now, he'll be back next year at probably half what he's making now. Girgensons might get another similar deal, but I'm thinking probably not. I just don't know what happened to Ennis, injuries are tough, but even when healthy he hasn't been great. We're stuck with Moulson and Gorges, like it or not. Grant and Deslauries are just bodies on the 4th line. - Wetbandit1
We can do better than Gionta. We can sure as hell do better than d lo and girgs. Moulson 100% needs to go imo. I just can't stand watching him anymore. I like Ennis and I think he can be a good player, but he and Bylsma seem to be a match made in hell |

I don't disagree. Gionta for now is fine, next year he'll probably be on the 4th line. I don't see how they'll be able to keep Baptiste and Bailey and Carrier all down in Roc. I was saying, especially about Grant and Deslauries is that they're just place holders until some of the kids are ready. Girgensons is likely on a one year tryout and he's not doing so hot, but he's still an RFA, so who know what happens with him. Maybe let him go and recoup a pick. Ennis is just, what happened to that guy? I'm guessing it's a little bit of everything, he was playing over his head with Nolan which some guys seem to do, injuries, and coaching. |

I guess .. I just don't know what you mean by hard fought - GERBE!!!75PTS
Rinehart was much more "involved" in the dirty areas, he used skill to attack defenders, he was taking chances using his "talent", I can count at least 5 solid scoring chances he created.
Kane is playing with the kind of fire and physicality I've always wanted in my wingers.
Jack, what is there to say, this kid has "it" more than anyone gives him credit for.
McCabe is not only physical out there but fast, tough, and better than expected.
Risto has become a top 10 Defenseman in the league in front of our eyes.
Reinhart was scouted as, "Dale Hawerchuck" style player, I was lucky enough to witness first hand what that player looks like on the ice vs. a Peca or Lafontaine , its not your fault you don't have as much context to place your assessments in, you will in time, if you remain a fan of the game. Anyways, back to Sam, the past two games, he has taken chances with Skill Moves, Gotten more involved along the wall, hell he actually checked a Boston Player today, but he sees the game faster than those on the ice do and it becomes more obvious he is trending up on a gradual curve supported by his NHL family and Sabres Organization. He will not be rushed, He will take professional steps like Chris Drury, The Best is yet to come. |

How much is the roster and how much is the coach and his antiquated coaching philosophy?
Hopefully disco Richard's leash is shorter than I think it is??

Don't worry, we just started rebuilding in 2014, and we have 10 years to be good. Our frustration is 7 years premature |

You said hard effort from the team ( as in one ) that's what I was disagreeing with
Reinhart was never scouted as a hawerchuck style player I have no idea where that came from just saying
I guess you can look at the bright side but we're still are terrible

To me, the coaching is the infuriating part. There has to be a middle ground between Nolan's "go play hockey hard" and Bylsma's over emphasis on positioning. Jack isn't allowed to use his speed really unless he accepts a pass in his own end and skates through the middle like they're setting up a power play.
We're not scoring enough and I think the D corps (with the exception of 55) isn't doing a good enough job getting the puck to the forwards on the transition, and the cycle game - as opposed to a more rush-oriented system - simply isn't working |
