Yeah a guy like Laughton buries that in his sleep. - PLindbergh31
Laughton is Bustproof!
seriously though, Im not going to give up on him yet. And when you look at the draft there weren't many players taken after him, except Maata, that you can really look at and say, we should have taken that guy.
Tanner Pearson maybe? |

That bad goal by Leighton was awful, but imo they had very little chance to win game 7 in Chicago. - PLindbergh31
They should have won 1 if not 2 of the first two games in Chicago. Just needed a couple of saves. Changes the complexion of that series. |

A good part of not winning a Cup is just staying out of your own way. Mismanagement has been an issue. As is a lack of patience. One example giving up on Bobrovsky who is likely going to win his second Vezina this year is just something that can't happen. - PLindbergh31
I believe they are building the right way and I am very excited about the group of prospects they have coming |

In all seriousness, I think it's time to be concerned Laughton isn't going to become a regular with the Flyers. He's had chances, he just can't stick. I'm not optimistic he's going to become anything. That area of the first round though isn't a slam dunk by any means so it's not a crusher.

The announcers on tsn covering the wjc have been raving about our prospects and saying how the team will be excellent in the near future. I agree. |

Mase gets dinged up last game, Stolie comes in and plays lights out. So of course, Hak starts Mason tonight. poop like this, and his other questionable lineup decisions are really getting old. - BiggE
Team needs a win and some points to stop the losing streak. Choice between a rookie who has played a couple of NHL games, who wouldn't even be on the team if not for the injury to Neuvirth and the established and experienced #1 goalie. I agree, what was Hakstol thinking.

They had it in 2010 if Leighton could have kept it together for another round. - Hextall271
sure but they were a surprise to be in the finals. that 2004 team, while tampa was the top seed, took them to 7 with a decimated defense. no doubt in my mind they beat the Flames had they gotten past tampa |

Hextall hasn't made any bad "band aid rental " trades yet. That is a good sign. He's done a nice job assembling a good core. The goaltending and defense pool is very deep. Hopefully there are some jewels. Provorov no doubt looks like hes got the potential to be a top pairing guy.
Hextall hasn't been good so far in the FA market. Hopefully he gets better there. |

I dont think its possible to hit homeruns in the draft and free agency in the same year.
I would rather he has 3-4 years of really good drafts then comes out with a good free agency year. |

Gordon one year deal. No big deal. A depth warm body. Wiese I hated at the time of the signing (length of contract). I dislike it even more now after watching him play. |

Weise has looked good lately. With Read back, with Weise and Couturier, they have another line the coach can rely on, and not have to over play the Bellemare line.
