I don't think I'll ever understand peoples obsession with Trouba - PhillySportsGuy
I'm sure everyone has NHL gamecenter so they can catch all his games too |

As much as I like him, I'd definitely do that Ghost for Trouba trade. I doubt Wpg would, though. They tend to shoot a bit high in trade values. I think Sanheim would pick up any difference in offense next year if it did happen, though. - Coleman
Agreed, a guy with zero games of NHL experience can easily replace the guy who was #2 in Calder voting last year. |

I dunno. Solid 2-way guy who plays in all situations. Big shot. Decent physical play. Good set up guy. He'd be a good wing man for Provorov. I'm not as big of a proponent of handedness as some, but another good RH shot wouldn't be such a bad thing on this defense. |

Glad we've circled the wagon around the idea that trading Ghost will fix all our problems. |

I wouldn't trade Ghost for anyone. I think the only thing we should worry about is weeding out the major garbage. Upgrade the bottom nine. Get a top six left winger who is a natural on that side. Let most of the UFAs walk. Cross our fingers that one of Morin or Sanheim is can grab a spot next season.
I think my mindset (possible or not) believes Michael Raffl can bring back an upgrade if we sweeten the pot. He's not perfect but he's reliable, especially for a team that might need to dump a little salary. |

Good point, but I just don't like the idea of trading the offensive dynamo that he is. Trouba is good, but he can't match what Ghost brings offensively. |

Trouba doesn't really stand out when you watch him. Not saying he's bad at all, but I'd be very nervous about trading Ghost or Sanheim for him.
Assuming he comes back healthy to finish the season, I'd rather go after Myers before the ED since he should be much cheaper with the Jets need to move a dman with a NMC so they can protect 7 forwards.

Raffl is a very valuable player, but he has more value to the lineup than in a trade. He'd maybe bring a late second, more likely a 3rd at most. |

Worth noting...but Bundy screaming "best game of the year!" in the third against the ducks made me LOL, despite how cheesy it was |

I'd be down with that. Out of curiosity: would you rather protect Gudas or Manning given their contracts and play? Yes, I'm being serious.
Also, what would you give for Myers, keeping in mind they probably don't want another player they'd have to protect unless it's a good upgrade? Would you do a 1st plus prospect like Lyon/NAK/Fazleev? |

Which team was he saying that about? I watched it on the NHL network so I had the Ducks team. |

I was talking about Tyler Myers and I would consider something like Hagg + 3rd for him, again, if he comes back healthy.
Phil Myers needs AHL time, just like Sanheim.

Gudas, and it's not even close.
Gudas is a top 4 RHD on a nice contract. Manning is a #6/7. |

Trouba is younger and has more upside, so I probably would even though Gudas is a better possession dman at the moment. But the Jets wouldn't do that. They need to move a dman for assets that are exempt from the expansion draft so they can protect 7 forwards.
Or buy out Enstrom. |

I don't think a 3rd + B prospect gets it done, personally. I know that Myers has somewhat devolved into a rich man's Luke Schenn (maybe closer to J-Bo), but I still think that it would have to be at least a 2nd and B+/better prospect, even with the ED coming. |
