I'm hoping it changes. I have no doubt he has good intentions, but it's been a rough start for both teams. - sbroads24
Yes it has been.
If anything he is a smart business owner, he should learn from this and put people in charge who know what they are doing, not some HOF former player (Lafontaine) |

If they dont want to fire murray because they just extended him, they should at least look to find someone to fill that role, tell brandon to just sell the tickets - Sabresfan-365
i'm torn on murray...love his scouting eye, don't like everything he did his first couple of years with personnel and contracts |

i really liked this last draft. I think hes in over his head. head of scouting/assistant gm might have been a better role for him.

Yep. Seems us on here see what it looks like . We are a small percentage .. .1% ?
I imagine lots didn't know about the Presser. They will find out later curing the news and from other outlets . We haven't heard the end of this yet. Pegs might be MIA for awhile . |

that's a good thought...
bring me a guy like tallon to place on top of the hockey ops...let him guide murray through the gm thought processes |

As a scout yes. But his get them at all costs needs to be curbed by a second opinion of that player. Seems he doesn't have someone to answer to on his swing and a miss. |

just finished it...
that was just a preliminary story...can't wait to see the final piece...
that said, I can't believe I actually said that about a Sullivan piece...not that i'm at odds with all of them, but some of them rub me the wrong way |

murray was a kid in a candy store...he did some good things, however, he really didn't need the extra jolly ranchers and skittles |

We will see how good he did in 2 years with his first two drafts.
Guhle looks promising as does Nylander and Asplund and a handful of a few others.
If he can hit on a few 2nd and 3rd rounders then all should be good (assuming he makes a few good trades, more of the ROR less of the Bogo)
For the record I have liked a lot of Evander's game lately |

I have no idea how canada is going to keep up with sweden in the semis
And with Myers out the blunder of leaving Guhle off the team looks even worse. |

Agreed on Kane . His game would be expensive to replace . Need to keep him with Sam and Jack on the 2nd line . OK RoR not Foligno on the top line |

The Pegula Sports and Entertainment Group's marketing department could save a pile of marketing dollars by utilizing the same motto for the Sabres and Bills:
"Wait until next year!"
Unfortunately they probably could have started using this motto a number of years ago.....

Whaley "We believe we are close"
Murray "It doesn't take 5 years to be competitive"
Only one of them is a "liar" other is just a straight shooter. - sbroads24
The Bills are close in the sense that they're close to a playoff spot. But they're really far away in the sense that you need a QB to win in the NFL.
And if Murray came in and said "it'll take 7 years before we're contenders" A) he wouldn't have gotten the job, and B) he'd be run out of town by the fans. What's he supposed to say? |

Do you slot Nylander onto the 1st/2nd line next year?
I agree, I think Kane and Eichel should play together. Both have great speed. Rhino can be the set up man.
