1) If we weren't the second lowest(last time I checked) scoring team in the league we probably wouldn't be having this conversation.

2) While shootouts are a gimmick, Lehner has been as bad as possible. Are we just going to have a #1 goalie who is going to leave 7 points on the table every season? It's tough to overcome.

Lehner has faced 6 shots, and allowed 6 goals. Our shooters have taken 6 shots, and have scored 0.

For him right now, it's 100% a confidence thing. It's all in his head, and a big part of it is that he knows if he lets a goal in, that's it. We're done. Because our guys generally don't score.

The Sabres have only scored 2 goals for Lehner during those shootouts as well...

I'm pretty sure in his SO games, they've scored 0. The only goals we've gotten in the SO have all come with Nilsson in net (based on my memory at least).

Obviously you missed the part where I said only if he brings his wife.

BUT when your save % is 0. I'm just saying, the fans see no future in that. Even if he improves he would still be below average. Who wants to sit through that learning curve? Imagine watching Eichel have a great season only to miss playoffs by 3 points while losing 75% of shootouts.

Ultimately the Sabres problems still go back to potential that has not panned out..... By the way I was basically saying that I like the old way of building a successful team.....

IMO, with Risto, Eichel, ROR, it's bright, just nowhere near as bright as it should be.

Best thing for this team would be to land a top 3 forward, and move Sam for a D man.
