One thing I will say about the coaching that is a head scratcher is why does Okposo among other wingers that don't play center take so many faceoffs? Even when Jack is on the ice. Bylsma gets way too wrapped up in the lefty/righty matchups to a point where he is going to have someone who doesn't normally take faceoffs against someone that does because the matchup is right. The next time I see Okposo win a faceoff will be the first time.

The constant mantra of "we're going to be good this year" has something to do with it...

Followed by the excuse of "it's the coaching, stupid".

- buffalofan19

Kaiser said that before the season in part as hope and in part because he thought they were going to be good.

Then, as the train went off the tracks, he continued to say it almost entirely as a hope which is a byproduct of rooting for the team to win.

Kaiser will correct me if I am wrong with any of that.

If there was one player whom you hope Vegas takes off of our roster, who would that be? Mine would be Moulson. We have lots of young guys coming up (Carrier/Bailey/Baptiste/Fasching etc) that can fill that role next year. l know there is lots of hate for Bogo on this site right now but jeez, if you remove him from the D, who are you replacing him with? We have more depth in our forwards vs our D at this time.

I watched the game around 1:30 in the morning and one thing I found

the D is better with falk and fedun on the bottom pair

now to find a second pair with the crap of bogo, gorges, franson and kulikov

my mindset is to trade franson and kulikov

pray to god vegas takes bogo
move gorges in the off season

find that second d man to play with guhle, (shat?)

I feel like he did the same thing when Carrier got his 1st, as well as Baptiste. So dumb.

Last night felt like the classic Bylsma hey, we're now up 3 which means I can only play the players I trust not to make a mistake instead of continuing to apply pressure and move forward for the remainder of the game.

Is there any chance the play Bailey made near the end of the game in the 3rd where he displayed his speed, made a nice move, and blanked one off the post will open the eyes of the coach to play him more?

I sure hope so!

There are a lot of teams that do this, now. The days where the center only takes faceoffs have been long gone.

No arguments here. Falk and Fedun make a quality bottom pair. Bogo is fine as a 2nd. Swap in Guhle for Franson/Gorges/Kuli.

That leaves two more spots in need of being filled. Make a trade, sign a guy.

Is signing Shat even possible? It's a good target. But, more realistically.. there's a handful of D that are more capable than the 3 above available at UFA.. Alzner, Daley, Wideman, Seidenberg.

I remember when Pommer was here they used to use him to take faceoffs as well. But only if it was on one certain side.

Seidenberg should already be in the Blue and Gold, Islanders got him for 1 mill and that's a steal. Alzner is looking for 5 mill or more a year, IMO Daley will stay with the Pens. We would have to give up a lot to get Shattenkirk.

If Falk and Fedun are your 3rd pair, BOGO and Gule your 2nd, how is there 2 more spots? Forget about Risto and McCabe as the 1st? LOL

He is 54.7% on the dot this year. 3rd highest win percent on the team.

Yeah, I understand guys that end up getting dual position eligibility in fantasy who do play some time at center, but Okposo or Foligno? Come on.

I'm starting to like Falk too. Got a little snarl and thought he was going to go with Pirri. Also liked how Carrier went up to Zucharello to call him a wussy after Zuch took a dive. Then drew a hooking penalty on Vesey that got the PP goal.
