ESPN Broncos reporter Jeff Legwold reports Denver will interview Bills OC Anthony Lynn for its head-coaching vacancy next week.
Lynn is a new name added to the Broncos' list, joining Dave Toub, Kyle Shanahan, and Vance Joseph. Lynn played for the Broncos in the 1990s alongside John Elway. And Lynn began his coaching career as a special teams assistant in Denver. Lynn has been connected to four of the six coaching vacancies.

I'm not against making a claim, just think it'll be laughable at the disgust around here after reading through yesterday's stuff - more "GMTM is the worst!!!" type posts incoming if he's not a Sabre.

I'm all for getting anyone - literally almost any other NHL players - to get that POS Deslauriers off the roster...

Tell me how you really feel about D-Lo

I understand he is low risk, but he's produced very little so far and he's a RW, which the team has a bunch of as far as young players/prospects.

At worst, if you claim him, and he doesn't play well, you leave him unprotected for the expansion draft.

But Sam is play C with Larson and ROR out. So we do have an opening if we think he is better than what we have in the system.

Is he better than Bailey or Baptiste? Both of which are also RW?

I don't know who Vance Joseph is, but Lynn sounds like a Rooney Rule interview to me.

EDIT: Googled. I guess not.

Thats how Tomlin got the job, he was only a Rooney Rule interview for Pitt.

If we don't hire him someone will. Especially with Gus Bradley saying he will be his DC wherever he goes.

And Buffalo is the worst option for any coach. I don't know why anyone would want to come here after the poop show of the last few days/weeks

I guess I think we should claim him because he has produced a whole bunch of points in the past (not in the NHL though), but at a low cap hit for just the rest of this year, I think it's a no brainer.

I would take him over Grant or D-Lo. And if nothing else, by claiming him, if it forces us to trade a player to "make" room, I think we are all ready for that. It allows us to trade more / any players come trade deadline too, if you already have a player to sub into their spot (because normal deadline trades include picks and prospects, rarely NHL ready players).

Also he would be great in the AHL if we had to waive him again in a month (or so) and no one claimed him then, very small cap hit.

I think I saw something that said they're expecting him back next week. Could be wrong though. They never gave an exact timeline really. Just said "out indefinitely"

It's really strange. It's almost like he never got an extended period of playing time for STL. not sure why.

I have Risto in a dynasty league. Definitely paying decent dividends now.

I inherited the team a few years back and it was awful. But after 3 years of finishing at the bottom, I'm currently in 1st place.

Couple thoughts on whether or not we lose Lynn to the Broncos:

1. Could be a connection to Lynn and Broncos. That is a little concerning. I can't believe I'm concerned Lynn isn't the next head coach for the Bills, but everything going on at OBD and me wanting T Mobile to be the QB makes me think Lynn is the best choice. There also could be a connection to the Broncos and Kyle Shanahan.

2. If Lynn and the Gus Bus are truly a ticket, then I don't see the Broncos bringing him in to be the HC. Wade Phillips might be required to be the DC for Denver's next HC. Plus Denver player personnel is geared towards 3-4 D, not Gus's 4-3.

Shanny Light makes more sense for them.

Probably got on Hitch's list. He's pretty old school, so my guess would be he did something that Hitch didn't like and that was that.
