I agree, should we have wanted to waive Bailey (if we had to) after his first 11 games with no goals? Give the kid a try. I feel like Murray wanted Rattie in Miller trade years ago, so I do think he will give it a try.

There is literally nothing to lose in claiming him. Its a free "2nd rd pick" without the development time.

Put him on a line with Eichel and see if he can produce.

The guy was a scoring machine in the WHL. Take a flyer on him - why not. The guy already has more goals/points than Grant/DeLo in the NHL - and played far fewer games.

I can't see how it could hurt. He's an RFA at the end of this year. If he doesn't work out, you let him walk. Could be a potential low risk/high reward type acquisition.

No one is really excited. I think everyone stated low risk/high reward if it plays out and if it doesnt.... you didnt lose anything.
