Don't underestimate the "grit" factor. Also, world-class penalty killers there.....

Without taking the flyer on Rattie and keeping both of the above on the roster, methinks that perhaps Murray wants one more year of a high draft pick and then he goes for it next year. Otherwise, Murray's inaction on non claiming Rattie was inexcusable. We can't score goals yet we let a young goal scorer (in the WHL - I know, I know) pass by us?

He's waiting till the trade deadline when we're just out of the playoff reach to get rid of a vet or two. I fully expect now for Derek wonder boy Grant and Nick Deslauries to be on the Sabres the rest of the year.... Unbelievable...

The Blues gave him 4 games. Then risked waivers.

Carrier hasn't played poorly. Yes, I'd like him to put them in the net more often, but that's not really what he's ever going to do a lot of in the NHL. He's a speedy winger who uses his physicality to irritate the opposition.

Actually the blame falls to Jim Monos, Player Personnel Chief for the Bills. He told a funny secret to Russ while Murray was in the room. Murray got all bent out of shape and went home "sick" this morning. Hence, no claim.
