That's not what I meant. I meant an actual waiver claim. But even that scenario (the Pommer one) is few and far between. Looking back on it, it's still shocking that he went unclaimed.

I remember reading somewhere that with all the injuries this season, and the way they have been using call ups (i.e. not using LTIR at all), the Sabres are up against the cap, or at least they were. That might have something to do with it.

I'd rather give Bailey or Baptiste a longer look. They're guys you've already invested in. And how does it look to them that they'd bring in a guy off waivers that basically ends up ahead of them on the depth chart just by default?

I've been saying for months now. I'd love to see Baptiste on Eichel's wing. Those two would be able to fly down the ice together.
