And that's one of many reasons why they aren't winning games.

Huh?

Are you suggesting that Lehner's play has been poor? Because of goalies with over 20 games played, he's tied for 7th in the league in SV%.

I'm suggesting what everyone else in the hockey world and any other Sabre fan I know is suggesting that Lehner might have some decent stats, especially earlier this year but you need to play the hot hand and Nillson has a winning record and just beat a top five NHL offense. He deserves another start. Play the hot hand

Agreed. If the Sabres would score 4 goals more often instead of only 0, 1, or 2 goals as they usually do in front of Lehner, they would be winning a lot more games.

When Getzlaf missed time for an appendectomy he had the surgery on Oct 28th and returned to action on Nov 6th.

Someone posted the stats a few weeks back, but in general to summarize what they said, Nilsson has had the benefit of them scoring more goals when he's in than they have on average with Lehner in net.

How is that Lehner's fault? Why should he get punished and have to sit because the team in front of him sucks ass? He was brought in to be the #1. His play hasn't warranted them sitting him for a backup. So why would they do that?

They way I look at it you win or you lose. If the team is putting up more goals for Nillson for whatever reason that is then fine keep him in. The only stat I care about is wins and Lehner doesn't have them. Worse yet he might be the worst goalie I've ever seen when a player is on a breakaway and then to a larger extent in the shootout. He looks like you froze him in time.

Someone said they play scared in front of lehner, none of us know why, but you can't deny the team plays 1000000000x better with Anders in net. Why not play him? When that trend stops.... play Lehner. I would much rather play the guy who has 6 wins in 12 games played then the guy who has 8 wins in 26 games played.

Eichel and Kane shouldn't be on a line together. It just doesn't work. They've tried forcing that round peg into a small hole for a year and a half now.

Kane's production picked up when he was put on a different line. Let's leave it that way.

I would like a 70/30 or a 65/35 split with lehner getting more starts

keeps both goalies focused

If Murray truly cares about making a run at the playoffs this year without giving up the farm he needs to make a few essential moves IMO.

If you don't want to pick up or trade for a 4th line center then call up COR for the time being. He's better than Grant. I don't know if he can kill penalties but our PK is dead last in the league anyway so what difference does it make?

I'd also bring in Nieto on waivers and park Deslauries ass in the press box

On defense I'd keep Fedun up here. If Gorges comes back then put Fedun on the right side next to him and put Falk back down in Rochester. You need to ice your best top six. No idea what's going on with Kulikov and frankly I'm done with that guy. At best we can shut him down till all star break, let him fully heal and hope he shows some glimpses of his old play so we can get an asset off of him at deadline. We desperately need a LW to play with Eichel but since the only guys who could come up right now and do that (Baptiste) is a RW and Nylander likely isn't ready - we're stuck with a 3rd liner on the top line.

That would set up the roster to look like this while we wait for O'Riley to come back.

Foligno (Blah) Eichel Okposo
Kane Reinhart Bailey
Carrier Girgensons Gionta
Nieto COR Moulson

McCabe Risto
Fedun Fransn
Gorges Bogosian

Nilsson had a pretty rough game not too long ago. Can't remember which one it was. But the goalie is not the issue, no matter who it is that's been in net for us this year. Just like pretty much every other year in Sabres history.

I think that is a big reason why they play scared, they dont want to give up that odd man rush knowing it is going in the net so they sit back more. With Anders they focus more on offense.

Do you actually have any type of contribution to add other than these stupid assumptions of how Murray might feel?

Not saying the goalie is the issue. But one goalie CANNOT WIN and the other one can.
