Kris Baker @SabresProspects 2h
Here's what we know: Cal Petersen likely to exit NCAA, can sign a two year ELC shortly after his season. Will it be with Buff? Maybe.
Kris Baker @SabresProspects 2h
If I'm Petersen's agent, I want to know if Sabres are going to commit to 25 year old Robin Lehner long term. - mhp
Welp best of luck Cal your services clearly won't be needed |

Baptiste should be up here soon. And Ennis too. Hope the good Ennis shows up. - cabin
Baptiste scored a beauty last night, a true goal scorers goal on a one timer that beat Gudleviskis over the shoulder on the short side. |

I read all this stuff on pysyk the last few days
A. Murray didn't like Pysyk
B. the panthers had no intention of playing pysyk, or kulikov in their top 4
C. We got Asplund in that trade as well
you can say what you want, about Murray not knowing who he was going to pick at #33, but he did know there was only 2 picks before him and I am sure he had 3 guys in mind when he made that trade
we all get attached to certain players
we all read prospect reports that make them sound great and watch youtube highlights and think it will translate to the pros
bottom line, if pysyk was anything other than a bottom 3 d man, he would have still been here
after a few years, you are who you are
with mccabe, guhle and risto there is a core with upside an it's up to murray to get that 4th d man, stock the prospect pool with d men and turn this f@cking corner next year - homiedclown
Excellent post Mr Clown. Couldn't agree more with what you say.
Regarding today's roster, what about slotting Baptiste onto LW1, move Foligno down to 3 and Grant down to Rochester? Eichel needs to have a winger with speed. Not sure why Murray (or is it Bylsma?) love Grant so much. If he was Legwand on the PK - i have no problem with him. But the last time i checked, we were LAST!

If he pulls a Vesey that would suck. If he prefers not to sign here because Lehner could be signed long term, that reflects poorly on Murray. Petersen has #1 written all over him. |

I have no doubt then when Petersen walks someone will try to spin it as a good move |

"Only" 7 points back? Michael, you dont seem to realize exactly how tough 7 points is to gain in this league to be in the Atlantic division playoff picture. This team is the least in the East on paper and on the ice and its reflective in tne standings. I cant see this team not finishing bottom 5 in the league. Their not better than any of the teams currently ahead of them. - Larsson_fan
I hear ya, and thanks for reading...
there are 44 games left in the season for buffalo and they have games in hand on every team above them save for toronto...if they're in a similar spot at the all-star break, i'll lead towards your way of thinking |

Of course they will.
Interesting fact- In Murray's 3 drafts in Buffalo he has only picked one goalie, Jonas Johansson in '14. He has passed on a goalie last two years. I really want Petersen signed. |

Eichel is going to have to learn that you need to be judicious with the sour-face. It can get old, and annoying, rather than inspiring, in an awful big hurry.
After his little tantrum last week, he would have been better served by saying something positive about the Sabres getting 3 of 4 points against good teams. At some point you need a little positivity from your leaders especially with a young team. I thought the Sabres did great this week.
If Eichel is (presumably) the future captain, how much are people going to want him to be their leader with this attitude?

Or look at it like this: They have 2 games in hamd on Tampa, but those two games TBay had were both wins. 'If' the sabres win the games in hand they will still be a point back. Do you honestly think they can keep pace with even a struggling Tampa Bay team , let alone pass them? Come on Bubba. |

He isn't used to losing, it's not fun, the thought was hopefully they'd be better this year, so far it doesn't look like it. If it's an issue Gionta needs to address it. |

as long as murray is around, Lehner will be the goaltender of the future. The guy has #1 potential and obviously wants the best shot at proving it right away. Would you stick around knowing a 25 year old lehner will be the #1? |

not gonna overanalyze it at this juncture...'only' was an opinionated word in a rather straightforward piece...come back at the all-star break and we'll discuss it then |
