Don't have time to back read but it looks like the Lehner V. Nillson debate was hot today.

Here's my point and maybe it's been brought up in past pages that I don't feel like back checking.

I get that Lehner has apparently a better GA avg and similar stats to middle of the road NHL goalies. But to me, my biggest two knocks on Lehner are

1. He gives up too many big rebounds. One think I like about Nillson is for the most part he doesn't let pucks bounce off of him
2. And the most important one. Whenever a shooter has a quality look on Lehner they often score. Be it breakaway/Shootout or high quality chance. He just looks frozen. I'd like to know where he ranks on those qualities of his game.

I just witnessed an almost brawl at McDonalds. I was waiting for my "I'm gonna regret this as soon as I eat them, McNuggets." and the manager just starts screaming at another girl about her touching her phone something like "What the (frank)!! Quit grabbin at my phone, female dog!! Grab at my phone one more time! I'll beat the (frank) out of you!!" repeat that for about a minute then to another lady "Get Michelle out my store or I'm going to beat the (frank) out of her, I'm gonna punch her in the (frank)ing head!!" Then "Get the (frank) out my store!!! Get the (frank) out my store!!! Get the (frank) out my store!!! Get the (frank) out my store!!! Get the (frank) out my store!!! Get the (frank) out my store!!!" "Get this female dog out my store". This is the manager. lol It went on like that for another few minutes until my food was done and I got a few coupons for free sandwiches. lol I was laughing my ass off, it was great, nobody knew how to react. Made my night.

Eh, he's good in some areas. He doesn't give up the wrist shot from the point some goalies seem to routinely give up. He's pretty good at some things

But I'd bet money if this coach opened things up that he'd have awful numbers. He rarely makes odd man rush saves

I agree our defense ass a whole is bottom 5 as a core, our top six has guys who shouldn't be there and we lack speed and skill on the wing but the goalie play could be vastly better as well. Especially in shootouts

I've been a big McCabe fan for quite a while now

Even back when we drafted Zadorov...
I said that I thought it would eventually be McCabe who would play with Risto on our top pair & that Zadorov would end up on the 2nd pair with Myers

I just like the way he plays the game
He's gonna be a solid defenseman for us for a long time

I agree our defense ass a whole is bottom 5 as a core, our top six has guys who shouldn't be there and we lack speed and skill on the wing but the goalie play could be vastly better as well. Especially in shootouts

This is what took leafs management forever to figure out. Unless you hit it big on all your rush moves you will wind up rushing to mediocrity again and again.


I dont think it will take 2 or 3 years for Liljegren to be an impact player but even if it did, ill gladly wait 2 or 3 years for a top pairing d-man than overpay for Cam Fowler.
