Hello! Long time reader, first time poster. You guys are pretty entertaining so I felt like I should finally join in. It will make these midnight shifts go faster.

Few thoughts: I like Lehner. Don't love him, but I think he is playing good enough for a bridge contract. No more, no less. He is still relatively young. Like some previous posters said, it'd be really interesting to see what his numbers look like with an upgraded defense.

I'm also excited to see Ennis come back soon. I know he hasn't really given us much of a reason to be excited recently, but I still have (some) hope he can produce. He put up good points on much, much worse teams. Not ready to give up on him yet.

I think the Flyers game will be a great test to see where this team is right now. It's frustrating to see flashes of how good this team can be, then watch them come out the gate like they did against Winnipeg. Hopefully they can put a whole game together against Philly, because it would be a big statement game imo.

Based on Grant's exhibition play I thought he deserved to make the team. However, his complete lack of production and the fact he can't help out on the PK makes him redundant. If/when he gets sent down, I don't think he'll see the NHL again. Too many guys are passing him on the depth charts.

Also, apparently Carrier lost 13 lbs from it.

The only thing that he did at the deadline was trade Mika Norenen for a 2nd round pick...

Sure he couldn't predict the blue line falling apart like that but he sure as hell didn't do anything to bolster his team.

His lack of movement didn't help his team.

So you don't think that without Kane and ROR over 100 combined points last year we aren't way worse off in the standings?

My overall point is they were guaranteed a top 2 pick the year they got Eichel while last year it was at best a 20% chance at Matthews.

Wrong Darcy didn't add to the D core at the deadline and our D men started dropping and I never said Teppo was bad.
