Hard not to do that deal - SABRES 89
I think it's nearly impossible to even consider doing that deal.
Why?
I am not giving up a young, cost controlled (for 2 more seasons after this) quality D who is improving, for a player who is making $4M+ more per year.
Especially when the player Buffalo would be trading would be making a position of weakness a position of absolute weakness.
Keep the Risto, McCabe, Guhle (we all hope), draft your BPA this year with a high pick, whether that be a forward or a defensemen, and make a serious run at Shattenkirk. |

I think he's saying you finish it in the oven
Which is normal when you put it on a cast iron skillet

I have one, Mr. Weber. It's great for hots, sausages, hamburgers, chicken, pork chops, lamb chops, fish, chopped veggies, slices of fruit, and anything else I want to (frank) around with.
But when it comes to a steak, and I'm getting into some serious science, it goes in the oven. |

Murray was mocking him earlier today, he said something along the lines of " I do more work in 2 F*****G hours than he does in half a season" I didn't know he was that deep in the doghouse. - Flynox

Agree. I think holding McCabe, trying Nylander on the wing, and going looking for top end defense is smarter than acquiring a top end wing, keeping Nylander, and looking for two defenders. - Der Kaiser
Holding onto what we have and trying to add is better then moving a piece or pieces we need. |

Spot on.
Easier to acquire (not easy, easier) a winger than a top 2 Dman...especially on a team that is void of high quality D depth already. |

you use an oven to ensure you get an consistent temp throughout the steak without over cooking and burning the exterior.
Thats the best way to finish off a good cut of beef so you dont under cook the interior and have it bleed out when cutting into it - DDM-Coga
I get it. I'm a very good cook. I just can't see not grilling a steak. To each their own. My bad. |

2017-2018 D:
??? - Risto
Guhle - Bogo ('cause unless LV takes him, he is ours forever)
Fedun - Falk
???
Need that top pairing guy...get a mature stay at home guy and let Risto loose - IonSabres
I think you have McCabe there, (think you just forgot), I do think we will make a play for another D man. I think Gorges is there too (even though we dont want that)
I do think we make a play for another D man at some point, before trade deadline, during draft, or FA. (but that is too easy to say). I think we will be at least 1 D man short of what we want starting next year. |

Shattenkirk will cost 6.6 a year or more, let the Rangers get stuck with him. I like him but will cost to much either by trade or FA. |

Do we have a choice? what exactly is the alternative?
we're going to have to overpay for a d-man no matter which route we take. |
