Thornton looking for three year deal, and undoubtedly Buffalo probably isn't on his radar, but...
With Gio, Franson, Dlo maybe Girgs and Gorges coming off. Would you try to blow his socks off with a 3year/6mil per deal? It would have to be a massive deal to have him even consider. That would give us Top-10 center depth |

I'd do it.....but there were some on here who complained about the pricetag for stamkos......as if money were any option when u have the chance to get stamkos on your team |

so far it ain't working.. he has been playing hard and seems capable of carrying possession and forechecking.. but he can't score and i think that matter more - IndianaSabresFan
Agreed. Nobody got a longer chance to get right with good players than he did. |

I'd do 6.5
edit: after looking at his stats this season, maybe not |

If that is what he is doing, why not have him ride on Eichel's wing then?

the question is would you move your family out of a gorgeous place to make 1 million more and not be a Stanley Cup contender? |

To be fair, a 6 mil over 3 years contract and a 12 mil over 8 years contract aren't exactly the same thing.
*EDIT* I would also do that deal. |

Man that's a lot for a guy that is turning 38 before next season starts...
Sure he played lights out last year but look at his production this year...Risto has 1 more goal than him and the same amount of points.
I wouldn't do 3 years maybe 2... |

I'll say it. Eichel with Foligno and Gionta is disgusting. What the flying (frank)? I hate Bylsma, so very much. |

Thornton is a pure play maker, 2 goals this year.
We already have the assist guys if you're going to spend 6 mil or more spend it on someone that can score....and isn't quite as old. |

I'm not seeing the linkage, but OK...go with it. - IonSabres
There was a whole conversation over the weekend about how we should worry that we would lose Peterson and not be able to sign him to an ELC.
The thinking was that Murray is committed to Lehner as the #1, and will never change his mind, because Murray never changes his mind about the players he drafts. Therefore, because Murray would never really give Peterson a chance, he would go Vessey and sign someplace else as a FA.
The grant episode today tends to disprove the thought that Murray never changes his mind about the players he drafts. |

My guess is they will offer 2 for $10 or 3 for 12. My guess is he wants security. Otherwise, I would pay him on a one year deal whatever he wants |

do we need that much depth at center with that expense though?
I'm more in favor of getting a sniper on the left, and right for that matter...especially if Rhino stays at center.
ROR, Eichel, Rhino, Girgenson, Larson ... that's 5 there.
I'm really hoping that Ennis can finally get his game back on track and be one of the socring wingers so deserately needed here |

Yeah that's the conundrum. You would have to give the years to get him. I still think I would. You could throw looks with Eichel on his wing |
