I've never said don't play Nilsson when he's winning. Not once. Lehner is the starter, but not by a Miller/Enroth margin. Lehner gets first crack, and Nilsson gets select games and will keep playing if he plays well, but if he falters, even a little, it's right back to Lehner whereas Lehner will play and if he falters a little they see how he reacts. That's pretty much the only difference between the 2 at the moment. I'm not saying he played bad tonight, but he didn't exactly steal the game for the team either. He was pretty much a non-factor; like the goalie is most nights with this team. - Wetbandit1
Of course not, because he was near perfect, and perfect 5 on 5, where he's been close to perfect all season.
He's 4th in the league in 5 on 5 Sv%. Lehner is 18th.
He's playing at a high level. Im sure it will come to an end, because he isnt some elite goalie, but if this team wants to go on a serious run, right now Nilsson is the guy

We would barely get back the 5th we gave up for him. If we seriously come close to the playoffs, I'd rather just keep him if he's playing well - sbroads24
If a serious contender has a goalie go down near the deadline, they'll pay, it's happened before. I think a lot of GMs are liking what they've seen in Nilsson this season.

Didn't we try, but fail to move Johnson for anything last deadline?

I think I heard his name 3 times all night long in an excited tone though. Even if Robin was healthy I think he should get the next game, he's earned it. Neither goalie has had a stinker of a game yet this year. SOs excepted. But a lot of that is the system too. It's not designed as a run and gun, so they're not going to give up a ton of chances. I just think we're getting bogged down in the thing that, right now, is the least important/thing that is less of a problem than anything else on the team.

I dont disagree, but the chances they do give up, Nilsson is stopping more of them.
Lehner hasn't earned a thing. He's had trouble winning games here, both Johnson and Nilsson have won a way higher % of there starts to this point.

I don't think there was any team with a goalie who went down long-term around the time of the deadline. I'm only referring to a team possibly losing their starter to injury around deadline time and they're looking at how well Nilsson has played for us this season. Nilsson possibly being a cheap alternative to salvage the rest of their season.

Can't stand Comcast, black out Flyers for Directv customers. Game sounded good from when I started listening in 2nd, but got a little dicey at the end. Wanted to see them beat the Flyers and they did. On to Tampa? Thank god Sabres play in the Atlantic. No shot in the metro. Now Lina is coming on. Need Eichel to get going.
