Agreed 100%, Having quality depth is key when losing your best player and other top 6 forwards. We really don't have a lot of guys that can step up and ease the pain of losing a caliber of that talent.
- Flynox

its a little worse than that ( i know debbie downer)

Its one thing if your secondary guys are too young or havent played enough in the nhl yet.

We invested heavy in guys who are being paid like good secondary players who are worse than above average ahl guys. gut the dead weight and add even minimally positive impact players and you're looking at a playoff team even with the eichel injury.

Honestly, we could do worse than Norv Turner for OC. He had a lot of good years in SD with this really good running back. Laganglion Tomlinsdorf? Something like that.

Edit: I'm not saying McCoy is Tomlinson, but they're very similar. They catch a lot of passes, they're great, shifty runners, they're built the same. I don't know if McCoy can throw the ball though. Remember that game when Tomlinson had a rushing, receiving, and passing TD?

Turner is one of the best offensive minds in the NFL. Lousy HC, great OC.

Oh, is that 1,000?

Edit: Goddamn do I feel old. I remember picking up this (frank)ing Russian named Ovechkin in my fantasy league, he somehow went undrafted, but it was after the lockout and to be honest I didn't really pay any attention until the season started. Now he's got 1,000 points and he's played 879 games.

It's funny I actually remember hearing more about Malkin than Ovechkin coming out of that draft.

You would think. But that's still pretty tasteless by the Pens to not even acknowledge it. They stopped the game in Florida when Jagr passed Messier.

I haven't backread, but it looks like Holcomb, the Panthers LB coach is going to be DC? That's a solid choice, the Panthers have arguably had the best LBs the past few years.

Panthers promoted Steve Wilks to defensive coordinator.
Wilks interviewed for the Rams’ head coaching job last week. He's been Carolina's secondary coach the past five seasons and will be Sean McDermott's in-house replacement. Perry Fewell is expected to take over for Wilks.

Ah, ok, I just saw he was just fired from Washington. Good for him. I always liked him, thought he got kind of a raw deal here.

So, I got pulled over today. I blew through a red light. It was bad, I saw her at the last second, and it was way too late to try and stop. (frank). So I pulled into the bottle return place that was on the right, and she comes up to the car and I was like "yeah, I'm sorry my car is acting up(it really was. It was running real rough at lights) and I was afraid if I stopped it would stall." she asked where I was going and I said "just home from the orthopedist". Thankfully she just wrote me a ticket for tints and not for running the red, which I totally deserved had she written me up, it bordered on dangerous. But it was a big intersection(N French and Sweet Home) with almost no cars at the time, so I think that helped. So all I have to do is take the tints off(no big deal; they were on the car when I bought it and I don't really care about them) and I shouldn't have to pay a fine.

But something else is I accidentally gave her my old registration from a car that I no longer have, so the ticket has the wrong car on it. oops. I mean I still have to get rid of the tints, but she screwed up so I really should be able to get out of it without having to pay anything.

Yeah, but Keuchley and Thomas Davis can stand on their own. I'm fine with it though. I don't like the idea of Turner at all. Too old and cruddy. Clayton said he'll take a West Coast job only anyway. I like Anthony Lynn as OC the best. McDermott fix the D and we see if team is good enough to win with Tyrod. If not, Lynn gets fired and McD picks his OC and go a different direction at QB. Nothing is stopping them from picking one this year even with their first pick if they think either are worth it. Once again, Clayton said this is like an EJ draft class. I say safety or corner. I think the LSU safety, Jamal Adams would be a great choice. I feel good about this.
