Who do you have in golf fantasy this week for the SONY? I got Thomas, Walker, Spieth and Perez with English and Howell on the bench and the other board I got Walker, Blair, Gribble, Varner, Howell and Stanley.

The thing is, they actually did have a streak of inordinate luck that year. December, i believe, they went like 10 out of 12 and were 5 back of Boston for a wildcard spot. Then of course, the wheels thankfully fell off.

How you define "luck" is tricky. Yes, Crosby gets lucky, but he probably puts himself in positions to get lucky more than your average player.

The more good players you have, the more "luck" you'll have

Even some of those higher picks take awhile to figure things out. Victor Hedman is a pretty good example. Yes, he was in the NHL from day 1, but for his first few years, there was talk that he wasn't playing up to his draft position. Then, all of a sudden, it all seemed to click.

Drouin is probably another guy, and even now that he seems to have come around quite a bit, he can't seem to stay healthy (he's been listed as DTD or O in my fantasy league far more often than I'd like).

Stamkos had a good first season, but there was talk that even he could be a bust after that first year. Not everyone comes in and lights the league on fire like Crosby and Ovechkin.
