Are we being serious here?
They are fantastic players, tremendous role models and pillars of the community.
For fcuks sake, they go through a bit of scoring slump and the fan base turns on em.
Both are top 10 all time scoring for active players.
Give your head a shake. - dbot
Everyone was counting them out after the Torts season too. They have expectations of themselves, to which they have said they would retire if they couldnt play at the level they expect. I think they are too smart and too hardworking to not rebound and keep at a high level for another season or two |

They were fantastic players. Not taking anything away from them, but they are now the same players when they came into the league.
3 poopty years to starts. 10 great seasons. 3 poopty seasons to end. (I didn't do the math, just made up the numbers). |

There were enough seconds on the clock for the preds to block the shot, skate the puck up the ice, and bury the game winner before the timer went... - Codes1087
1.5 seconds yeah they had precision timing in their heads. All Hank or Stech had to do was slow them down for a couple seconds but they screwed that up too. |

I was a little surprised by this as well. The Preds managed to change their forward—and that was Jarnkrok, who had the gas in the tank to break away.
Apparently the Canucks have done most of their 4-on-3 practice with the group we saw last night—I don't have the stats handy, but they're usually money in that situation. I'm not sure a change would ever have been in the cards. - Carol Schram
You are right again Carol. We have seen this before with them. It's live or die by the sword in that situation. Failure has a short memory. Like you said they have capitalized before. The problem is the road PP has low numbers. They might want to practice changing things up. |

I thought about that when I was watching. Josi was tying up Horvat in front, blocked the shot and lead the breakaway down the ice. I dont blame Horvat given the time left, but if he had battled a little harder for the loose puck it mightve stalled them enough, oh well |

I think they have hit a rough stretch but not sold they are completely done yet.
60+ points last year and 75+ the year before is still pretty impressive considering where this team is at IMO. |

They are 36 (frank)ing years old!
The only problem here are the fans who figured they could still carry the weight of single-handedly driving the offense of the entire team.
If we are being realistic here, they haven't been first line players since 2012-2013.
The fact that two, if not three, subsequent management teams failed to adequately replace/reinforce other sources of scoring is not on them.
The team is bad in spite of the Twins |

I think you are trying to make excuses for Stecher. The kid will learn from this but ultimately it was a low percentage play, clogged lanes, nothing to shoot at, he should have slowed the play down, created some time and space, or wait until the SO. Either way, he will learn from it. |

Exactly.
They have hit rough patches in the past and managed to work their way out of them.
I have no concerns there.
They obviously aren't winning the art ross again, but i think they are great players still.
edit: quick check and Henrik who sucks has more points than:
Taylor Hall, Marian Hossa, Filip Forsberg, Zach Werenski, Matt Duchene, Tyler Johnson, Ryan OReily, Alex Galchenyuk, Tyler Pearson....

Makes zero sense...
Benning: "Unless the no-trade players approach me, we're going to hold the fort and go from there." - VanHockeyGuy
Can't Blame Benning for players being given NTC's before his time.... The players signed the contract, they have a right to waive or stay. All Benning can do is voice is opinion on having the door open to players approaching him and asking for a trade and waiving. What else is he supposed to do? He has no right to force a player, who signed something, to opt out and move their lives somewhere else. |

were they using a rubber ball as a puck holy fak was that ice brutal, how for the life of me why they cant have good ice in this day and age is beyond me, I get the multiple events in the building thing but wholly moly, that skille chance where it was bouncing like a ball was brutal to bad that didn't happen on the winning goal. |

In the year after Torts they have 76 and 73 points in 82 games, still top line stuff. But youre right, they are finally getting support on the scoresheet and people want to toss them aside. They still take the tough minutes and top defenders, thats because opponents still deem them the biggest threat. The moment teams start focusing on Horvat's line, I would expect a bump in production |

Awful lot of hate for the Sedins today. Say what you want, they have been a huge part of the Canucks success over the last 10 years and probably deserve a bit more credit. They may be soft, they may be 36, and they might not play exactly like people want them, but god damn people give them some credit. 36 years old and controlling possession against some top teams with their core players being like 22 average. I think they simply are playing good hockey, but are 36, so they are going to being to dip and we are all starting to see the results of father time.

And it should be his right to stay if he pleases. It's completely out of Bennings Hands. All he can do is plant the seed over the radio (which the players and their agents will eventually hear) to say that he would be open if the players opt to approach him. |

If he can get something at 3 or 4 years around 3.5-4 mill, I would be happy with that. |

Right, and when teams focus more on Horvat, we can expect a decrease in production from the other lines, resulting in calls for Sutter to be traded, that Erikson is an anchor and Sven is streaky. |
