I do like Reino between Kane and Bailey...and him riding Eichel's wing when double shifting.

We really need for Ennis to produce when he comes back ...on Eichel's wing...and hoepfully add Baptiste after the TDL.

btw, I get what you've been saying about not being able to trust this team, and I agree that they'll need to do more...but I've been liking some of the signs I've been seeing as outlined in the last blog...

Not being pessimistic, but I do think it's a pretty big long shot we make the post-season.

But my big thing has always been that I want to see the makings of a team that will be a contender down the road. I have felt for a while we were on a trajectory to being a mediocre Flyers/Islanders team.

With the way Reinhart has played lately, and the fact Kane has seemed to get his head on straight, plus solid goaltending gives me some hope, but until they really start outplaying teams 5 on 5 consistently, IMO they will be a team that will be incredibly inconsistent

Can ennis still keep up with Eichel? if so he might not be a bad option for that wing.. but i think they play too much of a pass first game.. Eichel needs a sniper

I get that too, but i'm a little more optimistic as i'm seeing them as still a very young team in terms of their ages and, especially, how much time they've played together as a team...

a year-and-a-half, with long-term injuries to key players like o'reilly last year (and some of this season) and Eichel this year (along with kane being sidelined at the same time,) isn't a very long time for them to 1.) find their identity and 2.) build chemistry...

i'm starting to see those two things now and that's what makes me optimistic

they need a top 6 sniper and about 8 decent defensemen to be a consistent threat

It's all going to hinge on what happens with the blue line IMO.

I'm certain that Nylander looks like a future fixture on the top 2 lines.

I am not as certain we have many top 4 prospects outside of Guhle.
